Jim Jefferies stars in this comedy series as Jim, an edgy, foul-mouthed comic from Australia -- essentially a fictionalized version of Jefferies -- who, in his mid-30s, is living in Los Angeles and struggling to make his life and career more legitimate, a goal that he finds is a continual uphill battle. Supporting Jim in his quest is neurotic best friend and roommate Steve, a cyberlaw library salesman struggling to stay on his feet following a divorce, and Steve's brother Billy, who has to use a wheelchair because of advanced-stage muscular dystrophy.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Legit is proudly rude, crude, and politically incorrect, but thanks to strong writing and sharply-drawn characters, it's frequently hilarious and often oddly charming.

Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald Jefferies would never have been able to make a show that so relentlessly denigrated a racial or ethnic group, but the American FX channel clearly thinks it's fine to declare open season on women. Audience Member If you've seen Jim Jefferies specials, you've already watched the first season. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I stumbled upon this after the star Jim Jeffries pointed out it was available on Netflix during his Netflix stand up special. I gave it a try and had no idea it was such an amazing show. It's original, creative, authentic, and most of all hilarious while also being quite poignant at times. I'm sad to know there are only 2 seasons and would be delighted to find out if Netflix decided to continue the show. It's really amazing! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Remains my favorite show of all time, SEASON 3--I BEG OF YOU. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny, absurd, and always crazy and is, like "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Louie", a rare example of a television show capturing the comedian's essence without a filter. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I really enjoyed this show, especially the season finale. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Legit sets itself out amongst other cable comedies in that it combines crude and politically incorrect humor with warm-hearted moments and characters. The show is smartly written and acted by its lead, comedian Jim Jeffries, as well as acted greatly by the rest of its cast. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
