Previous Eliana Dockterman TIME Magazine The presence of Jessica Williams as Marcus’ long-running will-they-or-won’t-they certainly doesn’t hurt. If only Max had taken this second outing as proof that Love Life had legs, instead of canceling the show before it could return for a third. Feb 13, 2023 Full Review Rebecca Nicholson Guardian Watching someone in their 30s work out how to become the person they want to be, and the right person to help them on their way to that, makes for a different series than the first, but one that is just as effective. 4/5 May 7, 2022 Full Review Dan Einav Financial Times Jackson Harper brims with both starlike charisma and a naturalness that makes the character seem completely relatable and recognisable. In him the show has found an absolute catch. 4/5 May 2, 2022 Full Review Lina Lecaro L.A. Weekly Makeups and breakups, hookups, bad judgment, and selfish behavior, are all part of the characters journey to emotional maturity and a healthy relationship, which at the risk of spoiling things, were happy to say he gets. Mar 5, 2022 Full Review Debashine Thangevelo Independent Online (South Africa) I started watching the new season last week and, the more I watched, the more I got reeled [in]. Nov 24, 2021 Full Review Sarah McMullan Stuff.co.nz Marcus doesn't always get it right, but this season of Love Life is sharp, funny and insightful, and Harper gives a terrific performance. Previous Ryan K Thoughtful exploration of various romantic situations that becomes a bit dull at times. Season 2 of Love Life improves on the first season with better acting from the lead, but there are still some shaky performances. The writing is just as good as the past season, but it is generally predictable. The season starts off strong but fades near the end and has multiple episodes that are flat out boring. Overall, I would recommend the second season of Love Life to fans of the first season, but this season won't win any new converts. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/01/24 Full Review Toms c There is no even minded justification for the low reviews, ignore them and watch. This is a really high quality show. Worth your time, I wish there was more like this. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/11/23 Full Review SenegalStyle S It's a great series and I concur, 5stars for Season 2! Season 1? not so much, I wasn't feeling it but s02 is SO MUCH BETTER! And guess what? I guess the powers that be can't stand that their golden girl wasn't all that and it's cancelled after so2. So even though it's a 5star certified hit out the park for season 2, clearly better after dropping the excess baggage... they cancel it. That my friends is hollyweird. SenegalStyle Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/12/23 Full Review Brett C It normalizes my life except I don't have friends or money. And also don't go to restaurants or no buy coffee. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/06/22 Full Review Francine J I was SO disappointed it wasn't about Dharby anymore☹️ I had been looking forward to the season only to find it's a whole new person and story. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/05/22 Full Review jodie m What a shame. It only took 3 minutes to giagnise the real reason that this show was made. From the outset is clear that this show was made to encourage votes for the black lives matter organisation . The first season of the show was pragmatic outrageously funny and drenched in some of the best character development I've ever experienced in a TV show. It's with the heaviest heart that I have to say that this second series is an absolute obismal joke. The dialog is a thick minefield of political propaganda, fuelled bye racist slurs making the idea of being a white person feel like a heavy burden. With quotes like do you ever google white babies all I knew I was gonna be ashamed when you went with a white woman What an absolute feast of trash.
