Michelle Dean Bitch Media Hamm and Moss have, for one thing, an acting alchemy that's fairly unique on television right now, the kind of skillful play off each other than leads even underwritten scenes to be fraught with meaning. Dec 30, 2020 Full Review Paige Wiser Chicago Sun-Times It's rare for a show entering its fourth season to still be considered Event Television, but sitting down to a new episode of Mad Men still gives me a little thrill. Jul 25, 2010 Full Review Maureen Ryan Chicago Tribune It's about people whose lives look good on paper but who are still constantly searching for true satisfaction. Jul 25, 2010 Full Review Daniel Mendelsohn The New York Review of Books The actual stuff of Mad Men's action is, essentially, the stuff of soap opera...this impulse might be worth indulging (briefly), but the problem with Mad Men is that it suffers from a hypocrisy of its own. Nov 5, 2018 Full Review Ismene Brown The Arts Desk The secret of Mad Men's addictive draw is the human profundity you try to read into this fascinatingly surfaced drama about an empty man who doesn't know who he is... a series so slick and so moreish you don't even know it's an advert. Jul 18, 2018 Full Review Sarah Carlson Pajiba We have to watch the "Mad Men" characters figur it out for themselves. And finally, I care about turning in to watch that happen. Benjamin H Meticulously crafted and razor sharp, Mad Men continues its mastery in character development (especially for Don and Peggy), dialogue and period athmosphere in season 4 and the result is a superbly acted and excellently paced watch that is immersive all the way through. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/25 Full Review Nevin C Possibly the best season by far. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/28/24 Full Review Peacemaker Excellent TV series. Thoroughly engaging and one of the best TV shows I have ever seen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/02/23 Full Review DMC M I'm liking the changes to the storyline - things are heating up! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/19/23 Full Review randy k Show writers attempt to show the evolution of 1960s attitudes and beliefs without imposing present day audiences tastes, prejudices, and attitudes on the characters or plot. A truly revolutionary and enlightened concept that produces superior insight and entertainment value. This type of conceptual thinking is sorely missing in HBO series. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review dave d It's hard to fathom the show keeping up the pace from Season 3, but it does. The character development and the storylines are almost all perfect. There are some major swings and everything is fresh and fun! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
