steven d Look, it’s good but not brilliant. Starts off well, dips a bit in the middle. A lot of genre tropes, and myself and partner were literally predicting the scares as they happened. Good special effects, bad dialogue and cheesy cliche characters, scary and corny in parts. Struggled to finish it. She comes home to her hometown to investigate the suicide of an old friend; who claimed Emma's books had infected her mother with an evil possession. Though it's dubbed, it still works exceedingly well. It's one of those delicious movies where you gradually realize the hero is actually the bad guy...
