Recently married couples are usually madly in love, but as time goes on, that love often wanes and the partners seem to be just going through the motions. This sitcom explores what life is like for a not-so-newlywed couple who have seen the romance diminish. Russ and Lina Bowman can barely remember what things were like before kids and debt started to put a strain on their relationship. But every so often, they are reminded about what brought them together to begin with... being best friends. The couple's circle of friends includes divorced AJ and Jess, the younger half of a May-December relationship. Read More Read Less

Critics Consensus

In spite of superlative work from its talented stars, Married suffers from an unrelentingly grim portrayal of grown-up relationships.

Lara Zarum Globe and Mail There's something yucky about the way Married treats Russ's sexual frustration as the real problem with his marriage. Feb 17, 2016 Full Review Tom Conroy Media Life Married is worth checking out. But it probably won't work out as a longtime commitment. Jul 24, 2014 Full Review Brian Tallerico RogerEbert.com Married, the more high-profile lead-in, is about people who should be likable but end up grating and selfish. Jul 17, 2014 Full Review Jessica Johnson Time Out Chicago Faxon and Greer are witty without relying too much on the tired, snipey clichs that sitcom spouses frequently suffer through. Jul 2, 2018 Full Review Kari Croop Common Sense Media Family viewing, it isn't. But Married might be the perfect match for mature viewers who've got a soft spot for darkly crude humor and can take their main characters' motivations with a grain of salt. Rated: 4/5 Jul 23, 2014 Full Review Sabienna Bowman TV Equals I do feel it needs to give its strong cast better material if it hopes to gain something larger than a niche audience. Audience Member I have never seen a marriage like this and its really disappointing no wife would say go sleep with another woman cause I'm too tired. This show shows why divorce is a thing so dumb and irritating. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This season was too degenerate. There was funny stuff, but it was probably the reason the show was cancelled. Season 2 was MILES better, I'm sad it didn't get picked up for a 3rd season. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I like the cast but this show has been done, and probably better. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Love it! Central characters are the best. "we broke her" one of the best lines EVER. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Best Comedy on ALL of TV, love this show!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I was very excited to see this show the preivews looked hilarious but however it was not as funny as it looked cute story no doubt and funny scenes here and there but just not at all what I expected or really wanted from a show kindof boring at times actually I will give it one more chance 'considering its new ' but I just didn't care for the pilot at all sorry to fans of the show Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
