What to Know

Critics Consensus

The rapport between Ophelia Lovibond and Jake Johnson is the irresistible centerfold of Minx, a bawdy and sharp comedy that merits a full-page spread.

Geordie Gray The Australian A firecracker first season... Aug 17, 2023 Full Review Candice Frederick HuffPost Showrunner Ellen Rapoport keeps “Minx” oddly breezy, rah-rah and incredibly safe. That is enough to keep viewers entertained.... But the subtext is white fantasy and innovation. Dec 16, 2022 Full Review Katy Waldman The New Yorker Minx, the publication, is politics dressed up as fun. “Minx,” the show, is fun that barely bothers to dress up as politics—at least at first. But what it really cares about are its characters... Dec 12, 2022 Full Review Tamma Moksha The Hindu The series, starring Ophelia Lovibond and Jake Johnson, is patient and accurate in the portrayal of the reception of the feminist movement across socio-economic groups. Jun 11, 2024 Full Review KT Mahe For Your Reference Podcast I loved that this was written in a realistic way, and eventually - for me it took a bit too long - but I liked that Joyce was challenged on her lack of dimension in her feminism. Rated: 4.5/5 Jul 31, 2023 Full Review Oti For Your Reference Podcast My frustration was growing because at the end of the day, if you want to be a good person, if you want to be for women if you want to be for other people, just be for other people. It doesn't need to be layered and nuanced. Rated: 4/5 Jul 31, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Unclear D Loved it, a breath of fresh air. After so many years of being mystified by hearing how women don't want to look at mens bodies, someone finally called bulls**t. Feels liberating to watch this. There's still the obligatory scenes sexually exploiting women, with more naked women than I wanted to see, but only a few, so better than most TV. It's funny, great characters, loads going on. It's different to anything I've seen before or since. Doesn't feel clichéd unlike pretty much everything else on TV. Really good fun while still showing interesting political, historical and sociological themes. It's not intellectually patronising to the audience. Great all round. A shame, but not in the least surprising, it got cancelled. Had lots of potential for a new series with a few storylines set up, would have liked to see where they led. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/22/25 Full Review Audience Member Absolutely horrible show! Would never get a single positive review if female genitalia was shown like male genitalia is here. Sickening! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/25 Full Review Kelly S I really loved this show! It was funny and surprisingly witty! Really love all the characters, the cast has an amazing chemistry, season 2 was okay. Not as strong as season 1 but still good. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/03/25 Full Review Kwong L I enjoyed Minx and up for most things starring Jake Johnson. I just like his personality on screen. These time capsule shows are nice to see something a bit different. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/25/24 Full Review Scott W Bad writing and in the wake of the me too movement; it's shocking that these pathetic shows still exist that are nothing more than extreme sexual exploitation for shock value. Don't waste your time on this; there are plenty of exceptional shows out there. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/17/23 Full Review mindy l I Really love This Series, However it was over So Quickly and so much left undone! Great Chemistry between the "Actors" and Really brought me Back to that time... Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews
