Life isn't easy for Miranda. Whatever she attempts -- whether it's dating or dealing with her overbearing mother, to whom Miranda is a constant disappointment -- she always seems to fall flat. Miranda is desperate to fit in with her girly friends from boarding school, but that is hard to do as she is 6 feet 1 inches tall and gets called "sir" a bit too often for her liking. One of Miranda's main problems is she doesn't know how to behave around men, which is especially bad because her mother is desperate for her to find a husband. Despite all this, Miranda can be happy -- usually while playing games at her joke shop, which is managed by her childhood best friend, Stevie.

Michael Deacon Daily Telegraph (UK) Perhaps I'm just getting old. I'm sure I'd have loved this show when I was six. Rated: 3/5 Sep 11, 2018 Full Review Andrew Billen Times (UK) The sitcom has a gag rate to compare with Fawlty Towers - and some wordplay that would disgrace a Christmas cracker. Sep 11, 2018 Full Review Mark Lawson Guardian Fans of Miranda - including me - would argue that retro done well is preferable to edgy done badly, and that each of the old-fashioned elements - pratfalls, signature sayings and love story - is handled with panache. Sep 11, 2018 Full Review Meghan O'Keefe Decider The show's eponymous star, Miranda Hart, is lovable, hilarious, and full of heart. Oct 22, 2018 Full Review Adam Withnall Daily Mirror (UK) At the end of the episode, Miranda gave up on pretending to be a normal thirty-something year-old and delivered a heartfelt speech about how the world would be a better place if adults acted a bit more childishly every now and then. Now that's funny. Oct 3, 2018 Full Review Christian Cintron Hollywood.com Anglophiles, Brticom addicts, comedy lovers, and people with a pulse must check out this series. Audience Member I hadn't heard of this British series until Call Me Kat came on Fox in January 2021. When I read Call Me Kat (which is dreadful) was based on Miranda, I had to watch all three seasons, which was easy because they are only 6 episodes each. This show is laugh-out-loud hilarious from the opening scene and through all 18 episodes. The series was perfectly cast, with Miranda Hart leading a very strong cast. Miranda lives above her own joke shop, which works perfectly for some of her sight gags and pratfalls. Each week brings a different storyline and the jokes and fun keep coming. Too bad this only lasted three seasons. I could easily watch three more season with a huge smile on my face. It's too bad that Call Me Kat didn't work like Miranda did. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I have a thumbnail rule of not taking comedy shows too seriously cause it's all about the laugh, and laugh I did with this one. It's light, non-vulgar, not too crowded with ideas and characters which I like. Got me laughing with every episode which rarely happens these days (maybe I'm getting older). Miranda and Stevie are a perfect female remake of Joey and Chandler from Friends - UK style. You gotta love it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Miranda's third and final full season isn't a complete home run, mainly due to characters and story lines introduced that we know will lead to nothing. However the chemistry between the cast is more on fire than ever and the jokes have never been funnier with episode 5 being the clear standout Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
