This often campy series centers on the office of Dr. Sean McNamara and Dr. Christian Troy, longtime friends who practice surgery (and live life) in two entirely different ways. Christian is the stereotypical self-destructive playboy. Sean is the family man facing a moral crossroads, as well as a failed marriage to Julia. Sounds grim, but a healthy dose of dark humor keeps things humming and contributes to the show's appeal with both viewers and critics. But be warned -- the depictions of surgery on this series are a tad graphic.

Mike McDaniel Houston Chronicle As far as my reaction to the finale, it was mind-bending, of course. Nov 14, 2018 Full Review Joe Reid The Atlantic Some unfortunate casting decisions placed a good deal of the plot's weight on the shoulders of people like Rhona Mitra and Bruno Campos, which was... a mistake. Nov 13, 2018 Full Review Melanie McFarland Seattle Post-Intelligencer Beneath this skin is one-of-a-kind daring television that explores the complexities of human relationships with an unparalleled intelligence, sensitivity, appropriate level of fun and, when it is warranted, menace. Nov 13, 2018 Full Review Rob Owen Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Trash TV masquerading beneath a high-gloss sheen of respectability. Jun 29, 2023 Full Review Scott Weinberg DVDTalk.com By this point, Nip/Tuck has transformed into a fairly predictable formula. Beneath the surface we still have all the delicious surprises, unpredictable character behavior, and big buckets of witty dialogue. Rated: 4/5 Nov 13, 2018 Full Review Elaine Hanson Cardenas PopMatters With the Carver, the show effectively challenges the logic of cosmetic surgery, asking whether it is creative or destructive Sep 27, 2005 Full Review Read all reviews

Sascha H The end was big crap. The story about the Carver, however, was great, but with a lousy ending. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/23/20 Full Review Audience Member One of the bests seasons from this great show! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member The shark jumping season. Nip/Tuck through out any intelligence it may previously it had for stories that just became increasingly absurd (not unlike Ryan Murphy's later series, American Horror Story). Also, it climaxes with one of the worst whodunnit's in television history. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
