This Steven Bochco-produced series pulls few punches in portraying the day-to-day lives of cops in New York's 15th Precinct. Characters' personal lives intertwine with the cases they work, which often deal with the worst elements the city has to offer. Many characters came and went during the show's 12-season run but one constant throughout the series was Det. Andy Sipowicz, portrayed by Dennis Franz.

Barbara Vancheri Pittsburgh Post-Gazette The season seems promising, if not fresh. NYPD Blue long ago lost the right to that adjective, but a renewed national interest in and respect for cops could give this series an unexpected boost. dave d Season Nine is a step backwards as the cast reshuffles. While it takes time, this season culminates with a fantastic final show. Franz leads this ensemble group to heights most would never see again. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
