Britain is a mixture of despair and hedonism in 1919 in the aftermath of the Great War. Returning soldiers, newly minted revolutions and criminal gangs are fighting for survival in a nation rocked by economic upheaval. One of the most powerful gangs of the time is the Peaky Blinders, run by returning war hero Thomas Shelby and his family. But Thomas has bigger ambitions than just running the streets. When a crate of guns goes missing, he recognizes an opportunity to advance in the world because crime may pay but legitimate business pays better. Trying to rid Britain of its crime is Inspector Chester Campbell, who arrives from Belfast to try to achieve that goal.

Serena Davies Daily Telegraph (UK) It was beautiful, a vengeance killing that touched on myth to find its impact. It made me hope series two of Peaky Blinders may not be such a mistake after all. Nov 18, 2015 Full Review Stuart Jeffries Guardian We mustn't begrudge writer Steven Knight the Brummie braggadocio that charged the virtuosic denouement to series two of Peaky Blinders. Nov 9, 2015 Full Review Maureen Ryan HuffPost I'm happy to report that I fell hard for Peaky Blinders. However familiar its building blocks, the U.K. gangster drama is positively bursting with irrepressible energy, and it's proof that, whatever a show's premise, capable execution is everything. Feb 20, 2015 Full Review Adam Sweeting The Arts Desk Peaky Blinders is grimy, intense and quite watchable... Rated: 3/5 Jul 24, 2018 Full Review Pat Stacey The Herald (Ireland) You can't go wrong with a good flat cap. Apr 25, 2017 Full Review Morgan Jeffery Digital Spy This powerful, bloody, explosive first hour does set the stall magnificently for what's to come - and after this, you'd be a fool not to tune in. Martin F The second season makes everything that works in the first season better with more stakes and risks as the Peaky Blinders are making their way to London. It also starts to show some weakness, a lot of important information is exchanged through the abundant scenes of dialogue. It becomes difficult to keep it since they need to keep the conversation natural for the show so, as a viewer, you have to understand by yourself the current politics, and alliances, and read between the lines. When the show finally hits, it hits hard with some memorable and strong action scenes. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/06/24 Full Review Savannah G Absolute Must see! the ups and downs keep you with it the whole time. Strong season Finale Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/01/24 Full Review John F Flaws begin to damage the series this season, most notably some baffling blind spots in the story. Tom Hardy's cartoonish character of Alfie Solomons is more a distraction than anything, and its attempt at comic relief (if that's what it is) falls flat for the most part. Charlotte Riley is a great addition and the love triangle is a good subplot, but gets little development. Series becomes shallow and more interested in sex, violence, and drug use for shock value than telling a story. Fortunately the series finale helps to salvage what was a disappointing sequel to a great first act. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/13/24 Full Review Audience Member Absolutely incredible. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/13/24 Full Review Jannel M How did you beat season 1?? Amazing! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/22/24 Full Review Audience Member To another great season! I love this show!
