Britain is a mixture of despair and hedonism in 1919 in the aftermath of the Great War. Returning soldiers, newly minted revolutions and criminal gangs are fighting for survival in a nation rocked by economic upheaval. One of the most powerful gangs of the time is the Peaky Blinders, run by returning war hero Thomas Shelby and his family. But Thomas has bigger ambitions than just running the streets. When a crate of guns goes missing, he recognizes an opportunity to advance in the world because crime may pay but legitimate business pays better. Trying to rid Britain of its crime is Inspector Chester Campbell, who arrives from Belfast to try to achieve that goal.

Peaky Blinders' sixth season gracefully addresses the untimely passing of star Helen McCrory while setting the stage for a fitting climax to this epic saga of likable scalawags.

Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald Peaky Blinders returns in fairly bonkers style for its handsome, cinematic fever dream of a final season. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 16, 2022 Full Review Nick Schager The Daily Beast Peaky Blinders goes out in predictably thrilling fashion. Jun 11, 2022 Full Review Deborah Ross Daily Mail (UK) It’s all here. The violence, yes, but also the flat caps, the undercut hairdos that have become inexplicably popular, the Birmingham burr, the contemporary music, the slo-mo, the gloomy oppressiveness. Rated: 4/5 Mar 7, 2022 Full Review James Croot The Post NZ Even six seasons in, this is still one of the most gritty, gripping and genuinely addictive shows to come out of the UK this century. Mar 2, 2023 Full Review Addie Christianson Tell-Tale TV The series, Peaky Blinders shines because it’s complex, thoughtful to watch, and forces us to think about morals and the greyness between right and wrong. It’s hard to mindlessly watch the show, which is what makes it compelling. It’ll be missed. Rated: 3/5 Jun 15, 2022 Full Review Manuel Jabois El Pais (Spain) Thomas Shelby knows that with each day he's more alive, more human, and as a result, closer to death. James L I absolutely love Peaky Blinders and thoroughly enjoyed it, until season 6. What an absolute waste of time these 6 episodes were. The music was overbearingly loud between scenes. It also didn't have any storyline. I dont even understand what or why any of it happened. Disappointing way to finish such a fantastic series and not even necessary to watch the final season. Personally I don't think it should be the final season because I still have so many questions Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/25 Full Review Ava S no no it’s not over wdym “all the tired horses” was absolutely perfect for the ending of the series, and I feel like it kind of goes hand in hand with the end of series 2 because tommy was so close to death both of those times, when really he did want to die, but he knew that killing himself would be too selfish, so he needed someone else to do it. and both of the songs that end series 2 and 6 are kind of in the same playbook. “the only person who could ever kill tommy shelby, is tommy shelby himself.” tommy has come close to death so many times by now tho, like at least once in each season. and it really all traces back to him and his brothers fighting in ww1. like they’ve said so many times before, tommy shelby is dead already. that’s why he’s come so close to death, but almost accepts his fate. and he knows that he can’t die for the sake of other people. it really shows how developed of a character he is. he knows that people would consider him selfish if he were to kill himself. he’s practically doing himself a favor. like in episode 1 when lizzie talks to tommy after he might’ve killed himself. so really, he’s died so many times. “to danny whizbang-may every man die twice” or you know, like six times. I do now wonder what the movie will be about, but hey, I ain’t complaining and I know I’m late but can we just acknowledge the fact that david bowie was a peaky blinders fan I mean come on lol Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/25 Full Review Audience Member I started this series when I was 17 years old. Last season i was 22 years old. For me the best TV series of my entire life and it will be. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/25 Full Review Dileepa R Rubbish. Too artsy. Slow. Cheesy camera work. Changed the whole style of production for the absolute worse. Nothing really happens. Dialogue was slow and painful with drawn out music backed scenes of nothing happening. Minimal development for other key characters whilst other new ones just appeared out of no where. Genuinely thought I had found a parody version. Who ever produced series 1-4 please come back and redo 5&6. It feels like some producer got the show and wanted to put their creative stamp on it instead of continuing the brilliance of series 1-4. As it stands series 6 ruined one of my favourite shows. It’s so annoying because the character development, the interweaved stories of england and classes, that cast, everything was excellent and they deserved better that what ever decisions made series 5&6 happen. If there is a film please don’t get whoever made the decisions behind the disaster of 5&6 anywhere near it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/23/24 Full Review Martin F The last season is bleak and the characters mostly all end with the worst version of themselves. Outside an oustanding premiere and finale episodes, what we have in the middle is our characters in the verge of depression talking too much. The conflict are getting so mild, focusing more on silent mind play between Tommy and the facist. With this considered the finale, I understand why so many storyline was hard to follow through the whole series, it's mostly because they tends to introduce things quickly and sometimes get ride of them as quickly. It became evident now because this time we are not able to just say "Okay this storyline what not very developed but maybe it's just to introduce something that will happen next season." Here we have a new Shelby introduced in the last minute that doesn't even have anything important to do with the plot. We have a whole storyline about Tommy walking to other gypsies instead of taking care of his mission. I repeat the first and last episodes are amazing, the emotional stakes are high, there is violence and threasons. I really wanted them to represent the rest of this finale season. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/05/24 Full Review Savannah G I didn't even know it was possible to have this good of an ending!! Holy moley great season! fantastic show was so happy to be apart of watching this. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/01/24 Full Review Read all reviews
