Leonardo M The series follows selected NatGeo photographers on one of their projects from start to finish with additional testimonies of their career path. It's amazing to have a chance to be so close to see how these photographers conceive and rise to the challenges in their work, from coming up with the story to tell to how to approach it visually. Each episode follows a photographer that has his or her own unique subject focus, visual style and approach to build an interesting story. John Anderson Wall Street Journal As in every episode of “Photographer,” there is a personal story that deserves to have a lens turned upon it, alongside examples of photographic art that may capture a moment, but are usually moving, nonetheless. Mar 14, 2024 Full Review Joly Herman Common Sense Media This documentary spotlights both the telling and the teller of the story. Apr 3, 2024 Full Review Andy Dehnart Reality Blurred Both the photographers’ work and the television show’s footage are striking—gorgeous and revealing images that sometimes linger, and other times slip past in rapid montages that made me want to pause or go seek out their work to look at it more closely. Rated: A Mar 19, 2024 Full Review Liam Lacey Original Cin Though the series has no hot tips to offer regarding shutter speed or composition, it does spotlight the biographies of renowned photographers, connecting their personal experiences to the emotionally charged images they capture and create.
