Lucy Jones Daily Telegraph (UK) The episodes flitted between topics and scenes which resulted in a lack of narrative coherence and direction. The snapshots of the artist's lives often felt thrown together and the dialogue chosen could be platitudinous. Rated: 3/5 Mar 30, 2018 Full Review Daniel Fienberg The Hollywood Reporter Rapture episodes are inconsistent in both quality and in their individual directors and editors' abilities to find and craft a thematic or narrative hook...There's a lot of ground to cover, but the first eight Rapture episodes are a promising start. Mar 21, 2018 Full Review Alci Rengifo Entertainment Voice For outsiders what the documentary does is provide an interesting window into hip-hop as it stands today artistically and culturally. Indeed, the subject matter is so important and engaging that it might even deserve just a little more. Aug 26, 2018 Full Review Marty Brown Common Sense Media Documentary on hip-hop artists stays mostly surface-level. Rated: 3/5 May 8, 2018 Full Review Jade Budowski Decider Rapture is an inspiring, celebratory viewing experience, one that will remind you of the humanity that lies within all of us, hip-hop lovers or not. Apr 13, 2018 Full Review Audra Schroeder The Daily Dot The production, animation, and cinematography of Rapture is solid, and as an entry into Netflix's documentary canon, it's a welcome one. ma'ark t Rapture has some really good moments but a lot of it is quite boring. Cool to see the creative process of some artists. Would probably watch another season, depending on who was on. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
