Michael Malice Observer RuPaul likes to proclaim Drag Race is "the Olympics of drag." That is certainly true, and that has meaning for All Stars. Feb 14, 2019 Full Review Caroline Framke Vox If TV's narrative structure doesn't interest you - I hear not everyone thinks about TV as hard as I do, which sounds nice - you should at least know that Drag Race isn't just a reality show. It's one of the funniest comedies out there, period. Feb 14, 2019 Full Review Joel Kim Booster New York Magazine/Vulture More than anyone else, she recognizes that RuPaul has created something special and bizarre, apart from drag as just an art form. Who better to reign over it all than the show's biggest fan? Rated: 4/5 Feb 14, 2019 Full Review Charlie Mason TV Line The really great thing about tuning in to this week's eighth season finale of RuPaul's Drag Race was that it almost didn't matter who won. Feb 14, 2019 Full Review Dan Selcke Culturess Even by its own lofty standards, Drag Race is knocking it out of the park this year. Feb 14, 2019 Full Review Ed Halter 4Columns In the micro-society of Drag Race, RuPaul's inclusive take on drag becomes a metaphor for negotiating diversity as such. Martin F It's very interesting to come back on the past season of All Stars, for a show that now failed to offer interesting season it still gave one of the best season of the whole franchise with All Stars Season 2. It's an amazing piece of Reality TV with hugely charismatic contestants and all able to entertain the crowd. The comedic challenges are funny, all the lipsynch are amazing. This season shows the evolution a contestant of the original franchise can have, becoming a superstar. The twist is amazing, even if it's cruel. If you win a challenge, you get $10,000 but you also have to send another contestant home. Since it was the first time, they used this rule, the contestants were not prepared for it and what came for it, it's pure nerve-wracking mess, up to a now memorable tantrum. I would say that coming back from recent season, the fashion is underwhelming. Not that they look bad or out of fashion, just that we are far from the (too) expensive but breathtaking looks of the more recent seasons. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/01/25 Full Review Garrett H This has to be the best season of All Stars, and perhaps of the entire franchise. There is no shortage of talent, humor, fierceness, or drama. There are so many iconic moments and some great lip syncs (Alyssa Edwards). Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/08/23 Full Review Audience Member An All-Star cast that may have leaned a little heavily on Season 5 but provided a great way to continue the All-Star brand with a nice twist that was used right and wrong by the contestants in my view. I only wish Katya was crowned Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
