Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson, a Los Angeles S.W.A.T. lieutenant, is assigned to lead a highly skilled unit in the community where he grew up. Torn between loyalty to the streets, where the cops are sometimes the enemy, and allegiance to his brothers in blue, he strategically straddles the two worlds. Hondo encourages his team to rely on communication and respect over force and aggression, but when a crisis erupts, these unflinching men and women are prepared to put their tactical training to the test. Jasper H SWAT is one of the most realistic yet entertaining law enforcement, military, and combat TV shows out there. The new season definitely got off to an intense start in Thailand. Everything felt authentic in the first episode, with a storyline that was shockingly original and a plot that was gripping to watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/13/23 Full Review Jason V I'm disappointed, they could've done so much with the story idea. Instead they packed this show full of political agendas and garbage. Any kind of mainstream propaganda that was trendy at the time you can make sure it was stuffed into every crevasse. I miss when shows were entertaining, now most of them are pushing an ideology. All in all, it's full of bad writing and directing. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/22/23 Full Review Sean P Hondo, Deacon, Luca, Chris, Street! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/03/23 Full Review Ben Z The second season passes down further into the "mediocre" line. While the first season touched critical topics in an interesting way, the second plays the story too far into the good vs bad drawer. I would have like to include the critical note in a deeper, more grayzoned way; but it now all comes down to: police good. State good. Those that don't like: bad. Not sure if I expected too much, but the season finale was a real archetype cheesefest, and I'll probably leave the show at that. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Wow. Who needs Black Panther and Black Lightning? Hondo is way awesomer than them. Hey Panther and Lightning, you losers can just crawl under a rock and die now that we have Hondo. Hondo is a refreshing throwback to the days of the infallible, all-knowing, perfect heroes who were the norm before the current trend of having flawed anti-heroes as lead characters. He is much hotter than Chadwick Boseman and whoever that guy is who plays Black Lightning, too. Anyway, this show is mildly entertaining, made in America trash for lame-o's and losers who want to fantasize about being muscular, heroic, badass S.W.A.T. officers. I guess that's why I kind of like it. I can watch it and fantasize about being an infallible, super-hot, muscle-bound hero like Hondo! Oh yeah! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Since watching SWAT develop from it's first season and how much better it got with the second. I can say that SWAT presents a great action drama that really knows and really understands what's going on in the current generation. Its episodes have moments that can really tug on your heart strings and presents interesting stories that a watcher can get into. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
