Conrad C Largely thanks to the costume department, this show stands out just enough in the genre. There is a decipherable difference between the content from the books and the content from the spin-off series that has been messily grafted on. The events of the latter feel rather inconsequential in comparison to the main storyline, reinforcing the virtue of a faithful book adaptation.
