Based on the EC Comics series of the same name, this campy and stylized anthology series recounts a string of horrific yarns introduced by the show's moldering host, the Crypt Keeper. Episodes feature a number of well-known actors and actresses, including Dan Aykroyd, Malcolm McDowell, Christopher Reeve and Sam Waterston. Michael J. Fox, Tom Hanks, Robert Zemeckis, Richard Donner and John Frankenheimer are among notables who directed episodes.

Dan Caffrey AV Club The season-two episode "Lower Berth" is a testament to how, in the hands of a good writer and director... an EC story can take on a more complex tone than the comic that inspired it. Jun 19, 2018 Full Review A.A. Dowd AV Club "Dead Right" possesses a retroactive selling point common to the series: It stars two actors whose careers would soon balloon, both digging hungrily into heavily-caricatured roles. Jun 14, 2018 Full Review Ken Tucker Entertainment Weekly Tasteless, witty, and very well made, Tales from the Crypt is off to a good start. Rated: A- Feb 24, 2018 Full Review Sara Century Syfy Wire Patricia Arquette's turn as a victim of abuse, who has a bizarre sexual fascination with a scarecrow in the episode "Four-Sided Triangle" is by far one of her best, most unsettling roles in a long career. Jun 19, 2018 Full Review Andrew Roberts Uproxx Morton Downey Jr. had lost his trashy talk show by the time this episode aired in 1990, but he was still a well-known public figure. That makes this episode satisfying for several reasons. Jun 19, 2018 Full Review Nicole D'Andria Screen Rant Morton Downey Jr. is basically playing an exaggerated(?) version of himself here and every minute of it is enjoyable.
