Warm and winsome, if not particularly hilarious, Ted Lasso fleshes out its promo premise with unrelenting optimism and a charming turn from Jason Sudeikis.

Leah Johnson Bitch Media The real gift of Ted Lasso, both the man and the show, is that he serves as a door into a myriad of other, equally compelling and fully rendered characters. Oct 22, 2021 Full Review Johanna Schneller Globe and Mail Lasso's good-naturedness chipped away at our resistance until finally we gave in, and just let it make us happy. Watching an episode was like rolling around on the floor with a good dog. Dec 21, 2020 Full Review Melanie McFarland Salon.com Honestly, if memorable scenes were gems, Ted Lasso would be an encrusted splendor fit for the Queen. Dec 9, 2020 Full Review Bill Brioux Brioux.tv Think “The Producers” meets the beautiful game. I was also reminded, slightly, of Alan Partridge, except Lasso is more nice guy than narcissist. Oct 12, 2022 Full Review Adrian Hennigan Haaretz The true genius of Ted Lasso is that you really don't need to like football to love the show. Each episode is 30-ish minutes of pure unadulterated bliss... Sep 16, 2021 Full Review Jason Shawhan Nashville Scene I binged Season 1 during the interval between my first and second COVID-19 vaccine shots, and there is something about its Paddington-with-F-words tone that meshes very well with cautious and subdued optimism. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/07/24 Full Review Audience Member It's a perfect show. The characters are great, the cast is perfectly chosen, the humor is always on point and the consistently positive mood of the show is just good. The world desperately needed Ted Lasso. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Eric J Incredible show. One of my favorites all time. So many life lessons and heart warming content. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/23/24 Full Review Viviana G I liked the first season very much. Seasons 2 and 3 are not good at all. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/17/24 Full Review S O I absolutely love the way kindness in the face of derision is normalized. From fans yelling inappropriate things towards Ted to a boss that hopes to scapegoat him and tank his career, Ted Lasso shows a potential for the way people could act towards each other. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/14/24 Full Review Dillion J Intentional an underdog story with a main character you can't help but root for, The overall story has a strong through line of both overcoming odds and an interesting conspiracy plot. When the story begins, the main character of the show is forced to face, not only a lack of experience and knowledge of the challenges that face him, but he is expected to fail. However, with whimsy, wisdom and a huge heart, Ted Lasso manages to overcome many of challenges, but not all, and his enemies become his closest friends. However, the show has a bit of clunky dialogue, with Ted Lasso favoring pop culture and puns in order to come off friendly, and while it has a measure of realism (we have all met a Ted Lasso) the formula of conversations with him become predictable and boring too quickly, to the point where, passed the plot relevance of the conversations it feels as thin as air, almost as though the writers wrote 40-60 pop culture references to toss into the conversations like lego blocks on top of a hot wheels track, and is clunky as it sounds. Another issue is that the story constantly loses the thread, and callback jokes and plot lines get dropped a forgetten to the point where you could skip through every scene and just watch the first 2 minutes and the last 2 minutes of the last 2 episodes and miss almost nothing.
