Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald This handsome Israeli spy drama is tense and involving from the get-go, and while it doesn't always feel as fiendishly plotted as you might expect it to be, it provides uncommon insight into the complex human fabric of a region. Oct 21, 2020 Full Review Michael Starr New York Post "Tehran" is, admittedly, a little difficult to follow at first, and really hits its relentless stride midway through the opener once the plot points are clarified. From there, it's a pulse-pounding journey. Sep 30, 2020 Full Review John Doyle Globe and Mail To call the series twisty is an understatement. It's superbly crafted to nail one dangerous turn after another and keep you guessing. Sep 28, 2020 Full Review Paula Vázquez Prieto La Nación (Argentina) The true action is configured in the persistent displacement between borders but also between personal loyalties and family roots. [Full review in Spanish] Jan 11, 2022 Full Review Melissa Camacho Common Sense Media Tehran moves away from traditional stereotypes about Iran, and highlights the range of different, and often complicated, feelings the Iranian people have about their government. Rated: 4/5 Mar 25, 2021 Full Review Mark Meszoros The News-Herald (Willoughby, OH) Eventually, the reality hits you: There are neither heroes nor villains in Tehran. As in real life, 'good guys' and 'bad guys' are hard to find. Feb 21, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

paul b Excellent very original showing the story from both sides managed to make it feel balanced and not taking one side over the other to tell a bias version if events . Id like to see more stories about real issues do this rather than just portraying one side as good and one as bad Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/25 Full Review Paul G I spent over half of my time in Iran (mainly Tehran) in the early 90's and went in occasionally until about 2003. I watched it partly to see an action flick but mainly to see how well it reflected Tehran and the Iranian culture. I took for granted that it would be biased in o ne direction because it is an Israeli production but the bias wasn't as bad as I feared it was going to be. They did a good job of showing bad guys and good guys on both sides (albeit more on the Iranian side). I thought they did a very good job of showing Iranian culture and the accents were really good and realistic. The biggest miss was on the scenes in Tehran in particular (filmed in and around Athens). The cars appeared to be modern and nice looking. There are a few of those in Iran mainly driven by the "big shots" but about 95% of the cars are old, beat up and belching a lot of gray exhaust. That leads to the 2nd main problem with how Tehran is depicted. I think the air pollution is worse than Beijing. Most of the time you can't see 200 meters down the road because of the haze. The Alborz mountains are right north of the city and they tend to hold the pollution in the city just like in Los Angeles. Those mountains are beautiful but you can't see them at all from the city. Every now and then it rains and for about an hour or two you can see the mountains but then the smog comes back in. The population is very poor and they can buy gasoline for their ancient cars for almost nothing so they can't afford to repair the cars and belch out smog. I know the Tehran scenes can't be filmed in the actual city for obvious reasons but for those of us who have spent time there it is just jarring to see the difference between Athens scenes pretending to be Tehran scenes. I really like the show and am looking forward to season 3. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/23/24 Full Review Audience Member Pretty good series if you like spy and covert operations. I don't have AppleTV anymore so maybe I can watch season 2 somewhere else. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/02/24 Full Review Jacob M This is the best show I’ve seen in a long time! I’m halfway through season two and can’t believe how intense every episode is. You won’t be disappointed. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/14/24 Full Review Sam P It’s absolutely wicked - however it’s a disgrace how the people of Iran are represented, it’s rather discriminatory actually and perhaps unfair. Me and my friends won’t be spreading the word about this one - real shame. Sam C, Sam M and Sam P do not approve. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/22/24 Full Review John S Season one was very good. The heroine is both too weak emotionally and too strong physically, but the latter is par for the course nowadays. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/24 Full Review Read all reviews
