This follow-up series to "Avatar: The Last Airbender" is set 70 years after the events of "Avatar" and follows Korra, the next Avatar after Aang, who is from the Southern Water Tribe. With earth, water and fire under her belt, Korra must master the art of airbending. Korra's quest leads her to Republic City, a virtual melting pot where benders and nonbenders live together. But she soon discovers that the land is plagued by crime and a growing antibending revolution that threatens to tear the city apart. While dealing with the dangers, Korra begins her airbending training under the tutelage of Aang's son, Tenzin. Read More Read Less

himani Autostraddle Much of the frustration with Legend of Korra is warranted, particularly around the political narratives it's endorsing. At the same time, Korra denies us the easy solutions that leave us feeling cozy after watching Avatar. Jan 12, 2022 Full Review Gwen Ihnat AV Club The martial-arts action segments are unparalleled (like an animated Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), but Korra's status as one of the great feminist cartoon heroines secures her place on this list. Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Joshua Rivera Entertainment Weekly Korra's growth from brash and impatient teenager to capable leader and mature woman is incredibly satisfying; Korra managed to be one of the best series about a female superhero since Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Sep 21, 2018 Full Review Michael Cuby them. Better than its predecessor, not only because it centers the experience of a complicated young woman, but also because it was a show that dared to end on a note that confirmed it had been about the romantic connection between two women all along. Sep 30, 2022 Full Review David Griffin Screen Rant [Kuvira] is a fearsome beauty, possessing a strength and determination that could rival Amon, or even Zaheer. While her motivations for this new world order are still unclear, she should be an interesting addition to this season Sep 21, 2018 Full Review Allyson Johnson The Young Folks I loved this show by the end, and I can't tell you how happy it made me to see such a strong lineup of female characters, led by the strongest who was a woman of color. Jonah T Didn't used to love it but after many rewatches learned to really love the season. I really like how uncomfortable this season makes you, its hard to see Korra struggle so much to a point where you almost feel negative watching it. But thats the point of Korra, its much more real and raw than ATLA is. Its more mature and even though its not perfect like ATLA is its still a great watch. I think the show just suffers from having to live up to its predecessor. But most creators would kill to make a show this good, Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/11/24 Full Review Kbro S Great show but I just wish they continued avatar after this Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/19/24 Full Review Kyle E A great finale to the sequel series Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review Audience Member There is a huge disconnection of how the avatar functions between the series. Meaning the moments where other avatars would show up when needed. This one gets her butt kicked a lot, and left to fall most of the time. She's on the ground most of the series. Pretty much anyone could win if they wanted to fight her. Wisdom was a huge part of the integrity of the last airbender. This one seems to be "the ground is my friend". I decided to rewatch this and the last airbender and I gotta say the korra series kinda frustrated me most of the time. It's not as cleverly written. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/21/24 Full Review Nikita G Incredibly accurate and important depiction of trauma and recovery. This season in particular is important to me and helped me feel seen at times where I really needed this sort of representation. My only critique is directed at Nickelodeon which was too homophobic to let Korra and Asami kiss at the end (canon in the original comics). Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/18/24 Full Review Zern G A VERY GOOD SHOW PLEASE RELEASE THE SEASON 5 KORRASAMI Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/09/24 Full Review Read all reviews
