For years Patrick Jane has served as an independent consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation, earning a reputation for unusual methods and disregard for protocol -- not to mention his former career as a psychic -- while using his link with the department to hunt Red John, the serial killer who murdered his wife and daughter; when a scandal causes the dissolution of the CBI team, he goes to Mexico, until tracked down by the FBI and drawn into their fold to help solve crimes once again with his acute powers of observation; with negotiations he secures jobs there for his associates, Theresa Lisbon and Kimball Cho.

Dramino K During the development of the "Red John Mystery", there are still many episodes that have a plot on their own; however, they are all utterly deliberate leading to many little masterpieces in the overall masterpiece. The most major disadvantage of the series is, in season 6, the lack of implicating information about Red Johns character in order not to reject him as a suspect so easily. Generally, I believe that the real Red John should have been more active performing his role aside from being a killer because in the end it is kind of disappointing to find out that such a bland character was hiding behind the name of an enigmatic and heinous sadist. However, it's undeniable that the exceptional plot along with the phenomenal casting and direction have resulted in an astonishing masterwork. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/08/24 Full Review Bruno V Foi uma saga de episĂ³dios para "saber" quem Ă© red john (contexto secundĂ¡rio), impossĂvel ter descoberto antes, pois a sĂ©rie nĂ£o dĂ¡ dicas. Aun asĂ captan buenas historias y tramas. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/26/23 Full Review Barbara P The first part of this season is a aweful, amazing thriller!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review phil s I broke down last night after seeing the finale of Season 6 of The Mentalist. It was the first time I realized why I'm attracted to this show. Like Patrick Jane, I too have lost my wife and daughter. The realization of this fact hit me like a wrecking ball last night and I just openly wept. Thankfully, it was 3 a.m. in the morning and the house was asleep. But still, he and I have that in common, so the show hits all kinds of buttons for me. The finale of this season was impactful, as regards the dogged way in which Jane runs after Lisbon in the final act, gaining access to the plane she is about to leave on so that he can profess his love for her. I should have fought for my daughter. I should have fought for my marriage. I was in so much pain I let it all go and just wanted to be rid of it the last 15 years(30 years in total, half of it good, half of it pure hell) of abuse. His tenaciousness in pursuing this woman he has come to build his life around was so powerful for me. It surprised me. Here, all along, I had seen Lisbon and Jane's bond as more of that of a brother and sister - not lovers. Like the character Cho's remark about them being more of a brother and sister than lovers, I too saw this relationship that way as well. At first, I was uneasy with it, but when Jane confesses that he could not go on waking up each day knowing he wouldn't be seeing her face anymore. I broke. You don't have the slightest idea of the spectrum of emotions I'm talking about unless you too have lost a child before their time has come, as Jane and I have. Granted, he is a fictional character - but our issues are the same. I have lost my wife, my daughter, and my grandson. The power of this show is that it is bringing these issues to light within me and I am being healed in a way that I don't, as yet, fully understand. These realizations were brought home to me powerfully last night as I watched this finale. Solid acting throughout this closing series of episodes in Season 6, with a star-studded guest list. Unfortunately, when you see a guest star you recognize - you immediately know either who the killer is, or who the pivotal storytellers leading us through the clues are going to be. For me though, the chemistry between Jane and the new FBI agent who seduces him into coming back to the states, has more pull on me as a viewer, than the magnetic orbit between Jane and Lisbon, romantically speaking. I believed that agent Allison was to become Jane's new romantic interest and was disappointed to see them discard that character so easily. So, in a sense, she was a red herring in the whole scheme of the show, which to me was a waste. The premise of this show - the carny, whose giftings enable him to be a modern-day Sherlock Holmes, is brilliant and accounts for why this show was able to successfully produce over 150 episodes. I would love to see either a movie remake based on this premise or possibly a re-boot of the show itself. Either way, Season 6 improves upon Season 5, as the show's writing has continually done throughout so far - each one getting better than the last. Season 7 will hold new promise and I will be nose-diving into a serious bummed-outness when it all comes to an end just 7 episodes into this last season. I would prefer a world without end, wherein Patrick Jane and the CBI Irregulars keep doing it to our heads, surprising us over and over again. Let the carnival never end, but of course, none of us could've seen this coming, because if we've learned anything from this show's main character; it's that truly - there are no such things as psychics...
