This action-packed fantasy-drama revisits the saga of King Arthur and his wizard, Merlin, by focusing on the two characters when they were ambitious young men struggling to understand their destinies. In this telling, Prince Arthur is known to be the heir to the throne (no sword from the stone here). And he is acquainted with all those who will one day form the legend of Camelot, including Lancelot, Guinevere, and Morgana. Merlin is also forced to deal with King Uther's Great Purge, which bans all use of magic.

Damain Thompson Daily Telegraph (UK) [Merlin] is richly atmospheric, thanks to the presence of some of Britain's finest character actors and a running time of less than an hour, meaning that you don't get tired of the computer-generated special effects. Oct 29, 2019 Full Review Betty Ann White IGN Movies Merlin is turning out to be an enjoyable summer series. Rated: 8/10 Oct 17, 2018 Full Review Orlando Parfitt IGN Movies This was still run-of-the-mill Merlin, and proof that, so far at least, the writers aren't planning to deviate into exciting and fresh parts of Camelot anytime soon. Rated: 6.1/10 Oct 17, 2018 Full Review Robert McLaughlin Den of Geek Really, it is quite predictable and that's where my problem with it lies. Oct 17, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member I watched the second season with more awareness. I was more involved and understood better their features. I enjoyed most of it. A great figure was the Dragon Kilgarrah. I heard that John Hurt, the Dragon's voice died. So sad. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member People are calling it predictable which frustrates me most. If they watch it all the way through they would be more than extremely surprised. I also saw a rating saying that this show is for adults who are tired of "sex and the f word." *deep breath.* this show is rated PG. It is for all ages. If it had "sex and the f word" I would be highly concerned. This show is for fantasy lovers who don't particularly like all that teenager drama that you see in EVERY SINGLE American tv show. Riverdale, Stranger Things, Outer Banks, and every crime show in the godforsaken universe is so extremely tiring because of all of the romance drama crap. This is centered around a friendship. It is lighthearted, funny, and a show that a family can enjoy together. Enough about the SGI. Who actually cares? Just because a show is on a low budget doesn't mean it's bad. I would actually say it's rather fantastic. Good life lessons, fantastic actors, a good plot, and a captivating setting. This show is one of a kind and I'm getting tired of people who watch 10 minutes into the first episode and say " the sgi is crap" and then leave. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member With a better script than the first season, Merlin season 2 is an improvement comparing to the first season, but its poor visual effects and predictable story are still there. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Francesco A Awesome experience. Truly unbeatable. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/14/20 Full Review Audience Member This series is better than the last with Colin Morgan being hilarious and working well with every character on screen. the Highlights of this series is the Curse of Cornelius Sigan, the Sins of the father being my favourite and the Last Dragonlord being a really emotional episode when Merlin's father dies. I'm glad there's a 2-part episode in this. Unfortunately, there are many dull episodes such as the Nightmare Begins, the Lady of the Lake and the Witch's Quickening. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member If you want a program like nothing else then this is the one for you. Very well written, beautifully focused/designed & warmly entertaining. Constant character development without it feeling forced - a real breath of fresh air!
