Lucas L The fourth season of The Flash introduced us to a new kind of villain, Clifford DeVoe, also known as The Thinker. This season marked a departure from the show’s traditional speedster antagonists, a move that was initially met with anticipation. However, as the season progressed, it became evident that DeVoe’s storyline was, unfortunately, drawn out and lacked the excitement of previous seasons. The Thinker, despite his intellectual prowess, failed to captivate the audience in the same way as his speedster predecessors. The narrative seemed to stretch DeVoe’s arc, causing the plot to lose its momentum at times. The episodes often felt more like a chess match, with Barry Allen and his team always one step behind. While this could have added a layer of suspense, it instead led to a sense of predictability. Moreover, the season struggled to maintain the balance between its darker themes and the show’s inherent light-heartedness. The result was a tone that often felt inconsistent, leaving viewers longing for the thrilling, high-stakes action that characterized earlier seasons. In conclusion, while Season 4 of The Flash attempted to break new ground with its choice of villain, it fell short in delivering the engaging and dynamic storytelling that fans have come to expect from the series. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/12/24 Full Review ana luisa u Cisco y Caitin son planos y iris es insoportable y Debot es buen villano la accion es meh y Ralph es divertido y flash tiene mal desarrollo y humor es decente es un 5.2 de 10 Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/24 Full Review Pancapeczka G I wasnt expecting that non speedster villain to be as good as it is, but at begining i wasnt entertained with this season. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/24/23 Full Review Nathaniel A Much like Season 3, Season 4 suffers from similar issues. Grant Gustin's performance continues to keep seasons ridding high, along with Killer Frost getting some backstory and the season overall has a more lighter charm then Season 3 did. However, several characters once again lack much needed characterization, the main villain The Thinker included. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/15/23 Full Review American M Loved everything, no better way to bring Barry back from the Speed Force and how they brought him out of his Speed Force mindset is so good and even better when you find out DeVoe planned all of it and the new metas and there abilities is one of the most unique and a new superhero elongated man and how he played out to a selfish A-Hole to a respectable hero is just amazing and the ending and Nora thought is just perfection, great season, highly recommended. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/14/23 Full Review Superhero F It's fine. Just fine. Great introduction to Ralph. I didn't really like the villian, though. He was still a good threat to flash nevertheless. Allison Shoemaker AV Club Perhaps I'm the only one who feels this way, but the decision to dispense with the meat of the story to skip to the end seems pretty familiar, no? Rated: C+ May 2, 2018 Full Review Autumn Noel Kelly Newsweek The Flash Season 4 episode 16, 'Run Iris, Run,' is one of the most exciting moments in series history. Mar 26, 2018 Full Review Allison Keene Collider It's hard to dislike Grant Gustin, who has such a natural charisma, but the show surely tried. Now, it's letting him have fun again with inventive speedster sequences, new ways of battling foes, as well as familiar interactions among the team. Rated: 3/5 Oct 14, 2017 Full Review David Hogan hoganreviews.co.uk The overall storyline plays out well over the 23 episodes, and most of the characters get something to do. A good return to form for The Flash. Rated: 4/5 Feb 17, 2019 Full Review John Hanlon John Hanlon Reviews A solid season but it's disappointing to see some of the supporting players sidelined here. Rated: 3.0/4 Nov 19, 2018 Full Review Jeff Beck The Blu Spot Enriched with its compelling characters and intricate storytelling, the show remains a shining example of how superheroes on the small screen can easily compete with, and in many cases surpass, their big screen counterparts in terms of quality.
