The series picks up one year after the events in the final episode of "The Good Wife." After a financial scam destroys the reputation of young lawyer Maia Rindell and wipes out her mentor and godmother Diane Lockhart's savings, the two are forced out of Lockhart & Lee and join forces with Lucca Quinn at one of Chicago's pre-eminent law firms. At Reddick, Boseman & Kolstad, Diane finds familiar faces, including Colin Morrello, who is a rising star in the state's attorney's office, and Marissa Gold. Though starting at the bottom, Diane and Maia are determined to rebuild their careers and lives at the new firm.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Entering its final round having lost some key players but having gained the inestimable Andre Braugher, The Good Fight still carries plenty of satirical punch.

Maddison Connaughton Sydney Morning Herald In the end, The Good Fight offered no simple answer to its central question. There is no right way to fight -- only an imperative to do so, because progress is not inevitable. Nov 17, 2022 Full Review Kathryn VanArendonk New York Magazine/Vulture The show’s final season was one of its strongest... Nov 16, 2022 Full Review Dylan Roth Observer Most of what has made the show great is still present: its surrealist bent, its utter cynicism about law and government, its just-over-the-top parodies of new technologies and their legal and social implications. Oct 26, 2022 Full Review Kevin Fallon The Daily Beast It refused to divorce its universe from our own, which meant channeling all the anger, fear, and uncertainty as reality became more unrecognizable and harder to believe. Nov 11, 2022 Full Review Matthew Jacobs TV Guide The show has captured the madness of the past several years better than anything else on TV... It's a tragicomedy served with a side of satire that most of today's reactive pop culture lacks. Rated: 9.2/10 Oct 7, 2022 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba If you don’t watch, you might not believe me; if you do watch, you know. It is entertaining, it is funny, it is insightful, and it’s probably the most political show on television. Sep 30, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Jake P How this show has 6 seasons, is beyond any reality. I have a feeling this show is being greenlight by certain executives of a certain religious background to fluff up the experience for certain actors and screen writers, producers, and directors. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/25 Full Review Mark W The show started out REALLY good until season 3, I had to stop watching the show. The story arcs were all over the place and they did not tie in well. I am done! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/05/24 Full Review Marianna K The Good Fight is a strange show - both hard hitting but also incredibly bizarre and surreal at times. There were some terrible plot decisions, like the 'fake court' in season 5. This was a total waste of time and took up the majority of the narrative, and just felt like a total cop out for good writing. It swallowed up all the good elements by turning it into a parody. I think the show was at its best when focussing on the 'fights' in court, the personal battles of the characters and the issues they were facing in society, and sometimes the whimsical elements detracted from this. Absolutely solid show though, and tied up really well. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/24 Full Review John D Loved the good wife and the first couple of seasons of the good fight, but then it went down with trump derangement syndrome, season 6 was laughable, pushing now debunked talking points, grossly exaggerating others, and painting the democratic party as some paragon of virtue, which is laughable. Season 6 showcases everything wrong with the tribal nature of today's politics, and turned previous strong characters like Dianne, In to neurotic unlikable people, a sad death of a once great show. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/29/23 Full Review Elizabeth M Very well written. Excellent performances. Loved it and was so saddened that it ended after the 6th season. One of the best series out there. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/02/23 Full Review Juan Jose B The whole series was very good, maybe season 3 and 4 were a bit slower, but seasons 5 and 6 more than compensated. The ending is masterful, tying up the main threads quite satisfactorily. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/08/23 Full Review Read all reviews
