What to Know

Critics Consensus

Strong chemistry among its charming leads can't help The King of Queens rise above its toothless humor and dated sitcom set-ups.

Jonathan Storm Philadelphia Inquirer Combine that with appalling canards about toilet training and the heftiness of Hillary Clinton's behind, and it doesn't really matter if... stars Kevin James and Leah Remini actually project a modicum of appeal. Mar 19, 2021 Full Review Hal Boedeker Orlando Sentinel The King of Queens isn't master of its time slot yet, but with consistent writing, it could follow in the tradition of The Honeymooners. Rated: 3/5 Apr 24, 2020 Full Review Kay McFadden Seattle Times A nuanced update on "The Honeymooners," helped by the chemistry between [Kevin] James and wife Leah Remini. Still, too much [Jerry] Stiller can swamp your show. Rated: 2.5/4 Apr 24, 2020 Full Review Rich Heldenfels Akron Beacon Journal It's a stupid premise, badly rendered. Mar 17, 2021 Full Review David Zurawik Baltimore Sun [Jerry] Stiller may not be enough to save this pack of wrongheaded cliches, but it will be fun watching him try. Apr 24, 2020 Full Review Scott D. Pierce Deseret News (Salt Lake City) What "The King of Queens" has going for it is the enormously appealing duo of [Kevin] James and [Leah] Remini. They're charming and likable. But the show itself is only moderately amusing in spots - not nearly as funny as it ought to be. Apr 24, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Tyler M Amazing show. I used to watch this when it aired live and it was amazing back then. Still holds up today. This show is a good example of why the critic score doesn’t mean anything when it comes to good media. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/25 Full Review G O This is one of my favorite TV shows ever! Sure the first season starts a little bumpy but once the show picks up steam it's awesome. The chemistry between the cast is strong, the writing is super witty and they always go for the laugh. (Unlike other shows which become sappy) God bless this show it's gotten me through some tough times ❤️ It's rating on here should be 100% Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/10/25 Full Review Audience Member One of the worst comedy shows, 9 seasons of this! That's the biggest joke of this show, why on earth would they continue after season 1 and for another 8 seasons after that 😳 majority of jokes don't even work in this, kevin james character just cli-che annoying fat guy vibes, should of pulled plug after pilot...can't believe channel 4 still run it every morning 😂 Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/27/24 Full Review Green C One of the best comedy series on TV. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/23/23 Full Review Audience Member All 9 seasons get 5 stars. Best show ever. I love Doug, Carrie, Arthur, deacon, Spence, Richie, and everyone else in the amazing show. So many fond memories of watching this. Also many memories of watching this show during hard times. I used to want to work for UPS because Doug made IPS seem some dope! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/25 Full Review Aurora A King of Queens is an outstanding sit-com led by Kevin James and Leah Remini, two irresistible actors who make you wish to be their neighbours. On the same stellar level of Everybody Loves Raymond. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Read all reviews
