Eugene Gurkin has dreamt of opening his own bar for 20 years -- but his dead-end job as a janitor won't even fund a bottle of booze. After a co-worker's death, Eugene catches an episode of "E! News"; it might be divine intervention, it might just be a really stupid idea, but for some reason Eugene can't get this thought out of his head. Consequently, he recruits some eccentric friends and creates a gang to pull off their very own "heist" -- one that'll hopefully finance all of their dreams. The intended target? Rock icon Mick Jagger's luxe New York apartment. Soon, the new-age Robin Hoods are casing the joint, but what they don't realize is that there's a much richer target for them -- and it doesn't necessarily involve money.

The premise isn't original, but an appealing script and quirky characters make The Knights of Prosperity a charming comedy.

David Bianculli New York Daily News Its time slot and midseason status may make it harder to succeed, but creatively, "The Knights of Prosperity" has delivered this season where so many new shows have failed. Sep 23, 2019 Full Review Emily St. James Slant Magazine Knights may not be perfect, but if the writers can figure out how to write for every other actor as well as they write for Richardson, it just might be a worthwhile series yet. Sep 23, 2019 Full Review Troy Patterson Slate The Knights have a happy mutt's lovability. Sep 23, 2019 Full Review David Kronke Los Angeles Daily News The show's a little hackneyed, and one wishes it were a little funnier, but it's certainly fueled by an eager-to-please energy. Oct 8, 2019 Full Review Tom Jicha South Florida Sun-Sentinel These can be show-stealing roles in small doses played against grounded characters, but the Knights have no one but each other to bounce off. They would be too much of a good thing, if they were good, which they aren't. Oct 8, 2019 Full Review Rob Owen Pittsburgh Post-Gazette "Knights" doesn't shine as brightly as one might hope in these early episodes, but there are enough hints of great comedy that there's reason to expect further improvement.
