Mindy Lahiri is a successful, skilled doctor, but when she leaves the office, all bets are off. She aspires to become a more well-rounded woman, someone who is punctual, frugal and well-read instead of someone who is obsessed with romantic comedies and likely to give an inappropriate toast at a wedding. Despite stumbles, Mindy remains determined to get her personal and romantic life on track -- before her friends and colleagues are forced to stage an intervention -- and find her perfect happy ending.

Willa Paskin Salon.com It's a powerful tool [The Office's mockumentary format] and it may have taken Kaling a while to figure out how to get by without it. If she finally has, who cares that it took all year. Aug 28, 2014 Full Review Swati Gauri Sharma Boston Globe And that's how it's done. After a weak beginning, The Mindy Project showed us how off-beat, smart comedies can deliver. Mindy sure did. Aug 28, 2014 Full Review Hillary Busis Entertainment Weekly Mindy spent a lot of time last season trying to find its voice - and given the tone, rhythm, and finesse of the premiere's best lines, it seems like that journey yielded good results. Jan 2, 2014 Full Review Emily Gagne The Loop I'm constantly wondering why more people aren't willing to take their relationship with both characters and this consistently hilarious show to the next... level. Nov 14, 2013 Full Review Samantha Sobolewski The Loop Physical comedy truly is the way to my heart. Nov 6, 2013 Full Review Chris O'Hara TV Fanatic Franco's smile is infectious and should prove a great addition to the cast for as long as he remains. Audience Member Love love love this show! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Just not my cup of tea, but I understand the appeal. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member An extremely well written, surprisingly addictive show that knows when and how to generate laughs and build bridges between its principle cast and the audience. Give it a look. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I was concerned about Mindy Kaling new TV series before it started. I have read her book and she is funny. Her role and writing in the hit television show, The Office is also pretty funny, but tackling her own show? Now, that is the surprise. Mindy Kaling is a gifted comedy writer and actress. In Mindy Project she used the often cliche in romantic comedies movies or TV shows and adds a twist to it. The series also has one hilarious cast ensemble. From Chris Messina as Dr Danny Castellano, who plays your stereotype Italian macho man, but often caught in weird situations. Followed by Dr Jeremy Reed (played by Ed Weeks), who is a British doctor and has many personal issues. He is a ladies man, but with a daddy issue, which as you can expect often caught him in an awkward situation and discussion. There is also Morgan Tookers (played by Ike Barinholtz), which without a doubt is the funniest character in the show. Morgan is a male-nurse. He is weird but has a golden heart, he is also Mindy's best friend, or so he he thought. The reasons why I watched the series is because of Mindy and her fairy-tale romantic expectations. She is smart but at the same time shallow and very very eccentric. Season 1 has been good, but season 2 is awesome. I know not many people agree with me on the second season, because the writers keep on adding new characters and forget about the old one's. But, so what? many TV shows has been doing that. The season 1 is an experiment, but the second season is the real deal. I really really hope it will see a third season, cause you know what? the series deserved it. 83/100. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I love love loveeeee this showww....perfect for rom-com lovers...give som danny castellano!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This series's only real flaw is its tendency to at times rely on dated cultural references that many are tired of hearing; other than that, this series has good dialogue, funny and committed characters, a wobbly love triangle which keeps the fans tuned in, and a light-heartedness to it that works.
