What to Know

Critics Consensus

The Morning Show's second season has a slew of stupendous performances - but too many characters attempting to address too many hot-button issues makes it hard to know what any of them are actually trying to say.

Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) The plot became a haphazard mess, motivations were mysterious, no two storylines tied together, and the cast foundered. Saying it was off the rails was an insult to train derailments everywhere. Nov 30, 2021 Full Review Wenlei Ma News.com.au There's a fair bit of scene chewing in Morning Wars, so it only stands to reason that it's so dramatically delicious, you're going to eat it up. Nov 2, 2021 Full Review Debi Enker The Age (Australia) [The Morning Show] looks sleek and shiny, but it's artfully loaded with intriguing shades of grey. Oct 7, 2021 Full Review Aaron Phillips But Why Tho? A Geek Community The Morning Show season 2 delivers another gripping and dramatic season. The character performances are again stellar, with performances that’ll leave you on the edge of your seat. Rated: 8/10 Jan 23, 2023 Full Review Carey-Ann Pawsey Orca Sound While the second season involves plenty of strong acting from the cast, there was an attempt to squeeze in too much in. The story becomes too busy and involved. Rated: 3/5 Feb 18, 2022 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba Ultimately, it was a mess of a season, one where - aside from killing off Mitch Kessler - the series didn't advance the story much... Still, as beset by problems as it is, it was a very watchable season. Dec 1, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

M Q At the beginning this season became messy, but as a whole it still has good moments. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/08/25 Full Review Christopher M Another show on Apple TV, where the director seems to have lost the story and just winged it with a bunch of expensive actors and a terrible storyline. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/05/25 Full Review Iain M Perhaps the negative comments on here are based on watching the first two episodes of the second series, which, in all fairness, were terrible. My wife and I could not believe that we were watching something by the same people who produced series 1, but then episode 3 came along and suddenly we were back in the groove and did not look back. The acting is universally exceptional; aniston, witherspoon, cudrup, carell, duplass, pitman, carbonell and the rest, all at the top of their games. The writing too is close to genius, the bad guys come across as good guys, and the goods guys aren't always good, and people make mistakes, they say things they don't mean - all totally believable. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/09/24 Full Review Miguel f What a tremendous downgrade from the first season. Writers should be embarrassed. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/08/24 Full Review Samuel N Not as good as the first season. A little bit dull and flat. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/03/24 Full Review Nick S Pretty good season with some good ups and downs, but the magic is gone a bit and it's not as charming or engaging as I wanted it to be.
