Executive producer and hip-hop artist Queen Latifah and executive producer Dave Broome ("The Biggest Loser") embark on a nationwide search for undiscovered performance artists in a new take on the music competition genre. Celebrity mentors, including pop singer Gloria Estefan and country star John Rich, travel to the homes of talented local performers and learn about their lives. With the help of their peers, the hopeful contestants are then prepared for a chance to represent their hometowns as they take the stage to perform for America.
