      Critics Consensus

Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/15/23 Full Review Wyatt G The season starts with a bunch of 2 parter episodes that give general plot to a greater story, while still fitting into a smaller scale that the show has lived in for the last 3 seasons, but this does make some of the characters and plots less enjoyable. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/10/23 Full Review Claudiu I Still strong with a lot of gags. I'm fond of some characters. A great variety of humor. Scott Lamb Salon.com It might seem petty to fault a show that skewers the ridiculousness of the modern office for being too over the top, but a lot of ridiculous things happened on The Office this season that are hard to forgive Feb 24, 2020 Full Review Slate Staff Slate The first few episodes of the show's fourth season have been slack and unsteady enough to make fans wonder: Are we watching the fourth good season of The Office, or the first bad one? Feb 24, 2020 Full Review Maureen Ryan Chicago Tribune Despite its ups and downs, I look forward to watching the NBC comedy each week. When it is on its game, it's terrific. Feb 24, 2020 Full Review Travis Fickett IGN Movies Steve Carell continues to prove why he's such a star. As the center of this show, he manages to expand and deepen Michael Scott in a way that most actors would find impossible.
