Gillian Flynn Entertainment Weekly When the end comes, it's breathtaking - and what's even more stunning is, after you've catalogued all of Mackey's unforgivable sins, you'll still find yourself rooting for him, the bastard. Rated: A Feb 24, 2020 Full Review James Donaghy Guardian What usually happens with a great show that runs for this length is a gradual waning of its powers as the series arc runs its course... The Shield, however, broke new ground once again with a stunning seventh season -- arguably its best. Oct 28, 2019 Full Review Time Out Staff Time Out It's an extremely representative season, featuring as much of the good as the bad. Rated: 4/5 Oct 25, 2019 Full Review Ben Lindbergh The Ringer TV drama doesn’t get more fraught, or more fulfilling, than the last two episodes of The Shield. Mar 12, 2022 Full Review Jason Zingale Bullz-Eye.com Is it the best series finale ever made? No, but considering the circumstances, it is the best possible ending for The Shield, and one that will assure the show's legacy lives as on one of the best dramas on television. Rated: 4.5/5 Oct 28, 2019 Full Review Roger Catlin Hartford Courant The Shield returns for its seventh and final season, somehow managing to keep up its relentless tension, grit and touch of sadism that has set it apart from other cop series. M B Finale of The Shield which is the best TV Series ever made, amazingly gripping and entertaining. The adrenaline rush that took over your life has finished! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/22/25 Full Review Audience Member Breathtaking! 10/10. A must see. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/14/25 Full Review Cavid H Perfect final season and perfect character conclusions Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/01/24 Full Review Michael K This is without a doubt the best ending to a TV series in history. The last few episodes can not be turned off. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/17/24 Full Review S R I genuinely believe The Shield achieved both the single greatest final season and single greatest season finale in television history. Aceveda more desperate than ever to advance his career, Claudette’s health and emotional decline, Dutch’s obsessiveness and inner turmoil on full display. Watching the Strike Team disintegrate with previously murdered Lem, Shane’s murder suicide of his family, Ronnie ultimately take the fall as the only team member who actually pays for his crimes in jail and Vic have to live in silent solitude in the end, having lost his family and all else that mattered to him, was so incredibly powerful. I’ll call this final season 7 the most re-watchable season in TV history as well. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/24 Full Review Regina P on the top of the best final seasons of TV history with BB, this shakespearian ending is just perfect for every protagonist and will let you stunned Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews
