David Stubbs Guardian Blackadder this ain't by a long stretch, but it's likable and often clever in its satire of the bard's times. Apr 12, 2019 Full Review Ben Dowell Radio Times The Virgin Queen is played by none other than Emma Thompson, an appearance foregrounded by a rather clever in-joke about the Oscar winner's character in another Christmas favourite, Love Actually. Apr 12, 2019 Full Review Alison Rowat The Herald (Scotland) I found it as appealing as one of those severely irritating productions of Shakespeare: you know, the ones too noisy to sleep through.
