A series of personal and family traumas have made her an outcast - albeit one with a sarcastic side and a snarky sense of humor. Now, she helps her private investigator father dig into the lives of the rich and famous in the messed-up town of Neptune, Calif.

David Bianculli NPR Give Bell lots of credit. She's as good with the rapid dialogue and shifting emotions here as she is with the surrealistic sarcasm of NBC's The Good Place or her musical numbers as Anna in Disney's Frozen. Jul 23, 2019 Full Review Esther Zuckerman Thrillist The best part about the new Hulu revival of the series...is that it largely does away with any of that nostalgia, shedding the "hey look, it's that person" vibes for a mystery that's not reliant on old teenage beef. Jul 22, 2019 Full Review Melanie McFarland Salon.com Veronica's return is a welcome one, a rarity in an environment where revivals are plentiful but not always warranted or desired. Jul 22, 2019 Full Review Samantha Puc The Beat Veronica Mars is known for its genuinely terrifying finales ... there’s always a question of whether these characters will live to see another day. That’s certainly true of season four, which packs a huge, unexpectedly emotional punch. Jul 9, 2024 Full Review Erin Maxwell L.A. Weekly This is the way Veronica Mars was meant to be viewed: off a leash, completely free of the primetime constraints and censors so it can properly explore its surreal surroundings and fully embrace the noir content matter. Jul 31, 2020 Full Review Mark O'Callaghan Cultured Vultures Despite some plot points not ending well and some characters not getting a full spotlight, this will satisfy any Veronica Mars fan out there. angela g i like this season but the ending sucks but its still a good show Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/26/24 Full Review Tanya W Horrible ending, I loved the original series, this one as well was ok, not up to standards we had but still. the major exception was the season finale where they completely destroyed everything that had gone on before. Watch it and ignore the last episode. That was just...horrific. No happy ending, bad guys all win, I think the writer was either depressed or fed up with the whole series and decided to make the viewers pay for it. She finally agrees to marry the boyfriend she had refused to marry all season just to have him blown up the day they are leaving for their honeymoon. OH they did throw out a used rotten and battered bone , the father had a mix up in meds which is why he wasn't doing his job very well. Hurray I think?. Yeah, watch the first three season give this one a pass, or for curiosity sakes, watch it and ignore the finale. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/24 Full Review Jeremy C Whilst it is kinda hard to get past just how jarring the ending of this season is, especially considering how stripped down to the core this season was, it's hard to deny that there's still lots of what made the original seasons great here. Just don't expect a season with triple the episodes, triple the cast and triple the fan service. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/24 Full Review A F THEY FINALLY ELIMINATED THE WORST PART OF THE ENTIRE SHOW!!! Now that it's been thrown away, I think the series has such high potential going forward. No more awful characters (portrayed by awful actors), but just classic talent (by the remaining actors and writers). I'm so happy!!!!! I can't wait to see what happens next. I'm hoping for another novel written by the wonderful Rob Thomas. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/23/23 Full Review Amy W I loved the new season. I hated that Logan was killed. I so wish they would bring more seasons. They could bring Logan back, she didn't actually see him blow up. That could be a whole new season with her trying to find him. I miss this show. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/02/23 Full Review Beatriz D Overall the season was amazing, one in a million revivals that is actually good and worth watching. We can see a difference in Veronica's personality from her being an adult now but still with her unique essence, from her clever jokes to her clothing. It would be the perfect revival if it wasn't for it's unnecessarily tragic ending. SPOILER!!!!!! Logan already had had his character arch, evolving and becoming so mature, even more than Veronica (what would be impossible to picture in the first seasons, but I think that's the beauty of it) and it would make sense to kill him so Veronica could finally have her arch too but she already had it right before his death!!! She already realized she's a grown up who shouldn't be afraid of commitment just because it had gone wrong for other people! And then he dies just to make the end tragic and break Veronica's heart stealing the happy ending she deserved so badly. Honestly, I think most would agree with me that another season would only be worth it if they changed the ending. No one wants to see another season with a depressed Veronica and without Logan.
