Widowed suburbanite Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) starts growing and selling marijuana to make enough money to support her family after her husband's unexpected death leaves her in big debt. Nancy has associates in her pot-growing business, which include Andy, who is her brother-in-law, and pot-smoking City Councilman Doug Wilson. Then there's the business of trying to keep the whole thing secret from people like her neighbor Celia.

James Donaghy Guardian Season two takes us into darker territory while still managing to be funny, shocking and occasionally inspiring. Nov 19, 2018 Full Review David Bianculli New York Daily News Parker turns in a performance bubbling over with vitality and believability, even when the script itself strains credulity or when individual lines of dialogue slip too much into sitcom punch lines and rhythms. Nov 19, 2018 Full Review Ken Tucker Entertainment Weekly Weeds feels free to entangle Nancy with a new man: a DEA agent we knew she'd bed because actor Martin Donovan's deadpan actually rivals Parker's own. Rated: B+ Nov 19, 2018 Full Review Matt Paproth PopMatters This is the most memorable and most successful season of Weeds. Nov 19, 2018 Full Review Eric Goldman IGN Movies The show needs an actress as talented as Parker to ground it all and bring together the seemingly random elements, and she rises to the occasion in a big way. Rated: 9/10 Nov 19, 2018 Full Review Tom Gliatto People Magazine The second season is a much better trip, light-fingered but more assured at teasing out the mundane absurdities of life... But the best thing from Season 1 remains the same: Mary-Louise Parker. Nov 19, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Kasso M Things start to ramp up by the end of this season, but there are also some hilarious comedic highs. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review A A reallyreally good series! me and a huge one watched it together religiously Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/03/22 Full Review Audience Member Weeds is Back and better than ever. This time with a stunning storyline with twists and turns and shocks you would have to see to believe. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Relatively mild-mannered in its first season, the second season of Weeds has taken a turn for a less BS depiction of drug dealing, foul relationships, and the hurdles of single parenthood, all the while maintaining a sense of humour. Gosh, some of these jokes are dark. One of the best in the entire season is a clumsy case of child molestation. It should be stressed that Weeds is a lighthearted drama, no longer simply a comedy of marijuana trafficking in the suburbs. The show has found its footing, and can find room to laugh at itself while depicting the slowly destructive lives of our medium-sized cast of characters. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Fantastic season! :D Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member The soap-opera feel does nothing to hurt Weeds. The drama and characters get a tune-up in season two, resulting in a better season than the first. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
