For young Sheldon Cooper, it isn't easy growing up in East Texas. Being a once-in-a-generation mind capable of advanced mathematics and science isn't always helpful in a land where church and football are king. And while the vulnerable, gifted and somewhat naive Sheldon deals with the world, his very normal family must find a way to deal with him. His father, George, is struggling to find his way as a high school football coach and as father to a boy he doesn't understand. Sheldon's mother, Mary, fiercely protects and nurtures her son. For 12 years on "The Big Bang Theory," audiences came to know the iconic, eccentric and extraordinary Sheldon Cooper. In "Young Sheldon," audiences get a chance to meet him in childhood, as he embarks on his innocent, awkward and hopeful journey toward the man he will become. Jim Parsons, who plays the adult version of Sheldon on "The Big Bang Theory," narrates.

Eva B Fun to watch! Still worth watching! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/08/24 Full Review Nick S You can tell how they're growing out of their roles and the show is slowly overstaying its welcome. I think they should have done a time jump personally. Though, it is still funny, well written and deep at times. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/21/24 Full Review Audience Member This was the peak season of an overall amusing show. There is more introspection involved regarding Paige, as the representative of another aspect to intelligent people. Starting from here, Sheldon (and the show in general) starts to really grow up, facing questions that everyone faces no matter how smart they are. Who do kids want to be when they grow up? Is being smart everything? What's it like when religion shuns your family? In this way the show progresses from being merely for chuckles to almost philosophical. It's a great mix and still stays lighthearted enough to be a comedy. I never liked Big Bang Theory so I'm very pleasantly surprised to love this show. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/02/24 Full Review Acen L A great blend of drama and comedy. actually kind of peak not gonna lie Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/28/24 Full Review SkyRo P Honestly, this show is absolutely phenomenal! The first season is a total blast—it's filled with humor and keeps you hooked from start to finish. Each subsequent season just keeps elevating the experience, showcasing the characters' development and growth, which makes it impossible to look away and leaves you eager for what’s next. The parents are fantastic; they have a great comedic chemistry, although I have mixed feelings about Mary’s religious beliefs. Nevertheless, it fits well within the context of the show. Sheldon is hilarious, and Missy's wild personality adds to the fun, but Georgie truly steals the spotlight. He’s outrageously funny, and honestly, the standout character of the series is Grandma. She consistently brings humor and stability, and you could easily watch an entire show centered around her—it would be a hit! I wholeheartedly recommend binge-watching this series; it’s worth every minute. The first season does a great job establishing the characters and allowing viewers to connect with them as they evolve, with Sheldon emerging as the focal point of the franchise. As you dive into the second and third seasons, you’ll find more emphasis on the growth of the mom, dad, and the fantastic Grandma Annie. As the series progresses, you develop a genuine affection for Georgie. From the start, you’re drawn to him, but as the show unfolds, he becomes increasingly compelling. It’s interesting to see how, despite the title "Young Sheldon," Georgie ends up being the favorite character, which is why he got his own spin-off, "Georgie and Mandy." They wrapped up the series beautifully; I believe extending it further would have risked dragging it out unnecessarily. It’s refreshing to see Georgie’s story continue, as he’s the character fans were eager to follow by the end. I don’t mean to be harsh, but Sheldon’s character started to feel a bit stale after a while. There’s only so much you can do with him before it becomes repetitive. He served his purpose in building the show, but now he feels less essential, while Georgie's storyline is where the excitement lies. When Montana Jordan chose to keep portraying Georgie, he didn’t just reignite fan enthusiasm; he captivated a wider audience with his character. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/25 Full Review letaiser I would say this season was the best out of all that are on Netflix,it was very enjoyable and also quite funny ,but the jokes were at season 3 all pretty much the same , the season began with something shocking and ended with something shocking in between them were very enjoyable episodes and what I like about this tv show is that it is not like Big Bang theory where you only see the perspective of Sheldon ,in this show you see scenes of EVERY Character Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Read all reviews
