For young Sheldon Cooper, it isn't easy growing up in East Texas. Being a once-in-a-generation mind capable of advanced mathematics and science isn't always helpful in a land where church and football are king. And while the vulnerable, gifted and somewhat naive Sheldon deals with the world, his very normal family must find a way to deal with him. His father, George, is struggling to find his way as a high school football coach and as father to a boy he doesn't understand. Sheldon's mother, Mary, fiercely protects and nurtures her son. For 12 years on "The Big Bang Theory," audiences came to know the iconic, eccentric and extraordinary Sheldon Cooper. In "Young Sheldon," audiences get a chance to meet him in childhood, as he embarks on his innocent, awkward and hopeful journey toward the man he will become. Jim Parsons, who plays the adult version of Sheldon on "The Big Bang Theory," narrates.

Eva B More focus on the rest of the characters which I personally like Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/08/24 Full Review Kerry D Have watched all six seasons and they are all very well written and acted. Don't eat as you watch this as this show made me laugh so much at times I literally lost my cookies! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/07/24 Full Review Nick S The child actors have definitely grown out of their roles but the show is still interesting, humorous and deep. Recommended. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/21/24 Full Review SkyRo P Honestly, this show is absolutely phenomenal! The first season is a total blast—it's filled with humor and keeps you hooked from start to finish. Each subsequent season just keeps elevating the experience, showcasing the characters' development and growth, which makes it impossible to look away and leaves you eager for what’s next. The parents are fantastic; they have a great comedic chemistry, although I have mixed feelings about Mary’s religious beliefs. Nevertheless, it fits well within the context of the show. Sheldon is hilarious, and Missy's wild personality adds to the fun, but Georgie truly steals the spotlight. He’s outrageously funny, and honestly, the standout character of the series is Grandma. She consistently brings humor and stability, and you could easily watch an entire show centered around her—it would be a hit! I wholeheartedly recommend binge-watching this series; it’s worth every minute. The first season does a great job establishing the characters and allowing viewers to connect with them as they evolve, with Sheldon emerging as the focal point of the franchise. As you dive into the second and third seasons, you’ll find more emphasis on the growth of the mom, dad, and the fantastic Grandma Annie. As the series progresses, you develop a genuine affection for Georgie. From the start, you’re drawn to him, but as the show unfolds, he becomes increasingly compelling. It’s interesting to see how, despite the title "Young Sheldon," Georgie ends up being the favorite character, which is why he got his own spin-off, "Georgie and Mandy." They wrapped up the series beautifully; I believe extending it further would have risked dragging it out unnecessarily. It’s refreshing to see Georgie’s story continue, as he’s the character fans were eager to follow by the end. I don’t mean to be harsh, but Sheldon’s character started to feel a bit stale after a while. There’s only so much you can do with him before it becomes repetitive. He served his purpose in building the show, but now he feels less essential, while Georgie's storyline is where the excitement lies. When Montana Jordan chose to keep portraying Georgie, he didn’t just reignite fan enthusiasm; he captivated a wider audience with his character. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/14/25 Full Review Audience Member Well , this season was pretty good I gotta say and it makes me wanna see season 7 I didn't even knew that season 7 is already coming out in February , I'm basing the ratings on how good of a sitcom it is not how good it is an whole show, so lets get to the good and not so good things, first the good ones we're that the jokes were not even that bad like the jokes in the Big Bang theory , actually they're good or decent , then there was a lot going on the season and specifically the introduction of the parents of the Wife of Georgi ,then there were some arguments between The Parents of Sheldon (forgot the names of all ) ,and overall this was very fun to watch in a cinematic perspective and I think that this season is the best one of young Sheldon , now the reason why this isn't a perfect sitcom: so first of all there were many corny things ,then there were some fun Scenes and some very boring ones and at some points as a viewer of the show you can just hate some decisions the Characters make and as a German person I gotta say that Sheldons German accent was HORRIBLE , but I liked the End very much , they start from the bottom again , so overall pretty solid season and probably the best of the show we got Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Phil F One of the best shows on TV, so many well written characters in the show, and the writers make the people very likeable and funny.
