Film editor Chris Lebenzon earned recognition in Hollywood for helming the cutting table on such action blockbusters as "Top Gun" and "Crimson Tide." Lebenzon, a native of Redwood City, California, graduated from Stanford University before entering the movie business in the mid '70s. While his career began, modestly, on low-budget thrillers for filmmaker Larry Cohen, Lebenzon received his big break when he was asked to cut director Tony Scott's hit 1986 action-romance "Top Gun." Nominated for an Academy Award for his work on the film, Lebenzon went on to cut further box office triumphs, including "Days of Thunder" (1990), "Batman Returns" (1992), and "Crimson Tide," for which he was once again nominated for an Oscar. Lebenzon has cultivated close working relationships with some of Hollywood's biggest directors and producers, most notably Michael Bay, Jerry Bruckheimer, and Tim Burton, and some of his most acclaimed work was on the latter's visually stunning fantasy-adventures "Corpse Bride" (2005) and "Alice in Wonderland" (2010).
