Edwin Stanley was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Stanley began his acting career appearing in various films, such as "Amateur Daddy" (1932), "Lucky Devils" (1933) and "My Woman" (1933). He also appeared in the dramatic adaptation "No Other Woman" (1933) with Irene Dunne, the Buck Jones western "Treason" (1933) and "The Life of Vergie Winters" (1934). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the thirties, appearing in "Dick Tracy" (1937), the drama "Marked Woman" (1937) with Bette Davis and the mystery "The Mandarin Mystery" (1937) with Eddie Quillan. He also appeared in the western "Billy the Kid Returns" (1938) with Roy Rogers, the Ralph Byrd western "Born to Be Wild" (1938) and "Espionage Agent" (1939). Nearing the end of his career, he continued to act in the Monty Woolley comedic adaptation "The Man Who Came to Dinner" (1941), "Johnny Come Lately" (1943) with James Cagney and "Buffalo Bill" (1944). He also appeared in "Christmas Holiday" (1944) with Deanna Durbin, "Jamboree" (1944) and the Humphrey Bogart crime feature "Conflict" (1945). Stanley was most recently credited in "Youth on Trial" (1945). Stanley passed away in December 1944 at the age of 64.
