Larry Kenney
Voiceover actor Larry Kenney's path to television began at the young age of 15, when he snagged a job as a radio DJ. His career quickly moved him all around the United States to cities like Cleveland and Chicago. He eventually joined the cast of Don Imus's political radio talk show "Imus in the Morning," where Kenney voiced character impersonations, including Andy Rooney and Ross Perot. He carried on as a DJ for some time before becoming the host of the TV game show "Bowling for Dollars," in 1976. His knack for impressions led to voice work, including his best-known role, that of Lion-O on the popular "Thundercats" cartoon series. Though that show only lasted from 1985 to 86, it made an indelible impression on popular culture and will return, with Kenney's voice, in 2011. Throughout the 1980s and beyond, Kenney was heard frequently on television, on programs and commercials like as Sonny in the Cocoa Puffs commercials and as Count Chocula in the ads for the breakfast cereal of the same name. He has consistently landed work in radio and voicing video games, and was the narrator/announcer of VH1's " Best Week Ever with Paul F. Tompkins." Kenney had three children with his wife, Carol: Ashley, Tanner and Kerri Kennery, who is an acclaimed comedienne known for her work on "Reno 911" and cult sketch comedy favorite "The State."
