Nick Dennis

Throughout his entertainment career as an accomplished actor, Nick Dennis graced the silver screen many times. Early on in his acting career, Dennis landed roles in various films, including "A Double Life" (1947), "A Streetcar Named Desire" (1951) and the Humphrey Bogart dramatic adventure "Sirocco" (1951). He also appeared in "Anything Can Happen" (1952), the Edmond O'Brien crime feature "Man in the Dark" (1953) and "The Glory Brigade" (1953). His film career continued throughout the fifties and the sixties in productions like the dramatic adaptation "East of Eden" (1955) with Julie Harris, the mystery "Kiss Me Deadly" (1955) with Ralph Meeker and the Jack Palance dramatic adaptation "The Big Knife" (1955). He also appeared in the Jane Russell drama "Hot Blood" (1956) and the crime drama "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" (1957) with Richard Egan. He also worked in television around this time, including a part on "Ben Casey" (ABC, 1961-66). Nearing the end of his career, he continued to act in the Bobby Darin dramatic musical "Too Late Blues" (1961), the dramatic adaptation "Birdman of Alcatraz" (1962) with Burt Lancaster and "Four For Texas" (1963) with Frank Sinatra. He also appeared in the western "Gunpoint" (1966) with Audie Murphy, "The Legend of Lylah Clare" (1968) with Kim Novak and the western "The Good Guys and the Bad Guys" (1969) with Robert Mitchum. Dennis last appeared in "The Death Squad" (ABC, 1973-74). Dennis passed away in November 1980 at the age of 76.
