Mark Roberts
Mark Roberts was a prolific stage, film, and television actor who usually appeared in films and TV series in supporting roles. His first on-screen appearance was in 1938's "Brother Rat," starring Ronald Reagan. He continued in small film roles throughout the 1940s (credited as Robert Scott or Robert E. Scott), most notably in "Gilda" and "It's a Wonderful Life," although the latter was uncredited. He received top billing for the first and only time in a film, playing the title role in the serial"Black Arrow." After his discharge from the army he went by the name of Mark Roberts and began working more frequently on TV. His first recurring role in a series was as Hildy Johnson in "The Front Page," a TV adaptation of the popular newspaper drama. After the show ended in 1950, Roberts returned to small film roles and television guest appearances, including 10 episodes as various characters on "Kraft Theatre" from 1949 until 1958. His next starring role was as Bob Brannagan on the short-lived 1960 series "The Brothers Brannagan." He continued acting until the mid 1990s when he was in his 70s.
