Wally Vernon was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Early on in his acting career, Vernon landed roles in various films, including the Alice Faye musical comedy "You Can't Have Everything" (1937), the Bob Burns musical "Mountain Music" (1937) and the musical "Happy Landing" (1938) with Sonja Henie. He also appeared in the musical "Alexander's Ragtime Band" (1938) with Tyrone Power, the musical comedy "Kentucky Moonshine" (1938) with The Ritz Brothers and the Jeanette MacDonald musical "Broadway Serenade" (1939). He kept working in film throughout the thirties and the forties, starring in the Alice Faye drama "Tail Spin" (1939), "The Gorilla" (1939) and the mystery "Charlie Chan at Treasure Island" (1939) with Sidney Toler. He also appeared in "Sailor's Lady" (1940). Toward the end of his career, he tackled roles in "Always Leave Them Laughing" (1949) with Milton Berle, "Beauty on Parade" (1950) and "I Shot Billy the Kid" (1950) with Don "Red" Barry. He also appeared in the James Cagney adaptation "What Price Glory" (1952) and "Bloodhounds of Broadway" (1952). Vernon last acted in the Shirley MacLaine musical comedy "What a Way to Go!" (1964). Vernon passed away in March 1970 at the age of 65.
