Audience Member Absurd retelling of the Custard affair. Especially sickening the view the Indians deeply respected Custard. Certainly most at Little Bighorn would've thought of him as a genocidal maniac. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Unfortunately, this is not one of Randolph Scott's great films but it is definitely not his worst. Here he plays Captain Tom Benson, a man who finds himself accused of being a coward when he does not show up at the Little Big Horn. But he soon volunteers to bring the General Custer back to the Horn. Barbara Hale does try her best, but the movie suffers from a lack of pace and tension. Director Joseph H Lewis could have added more emotion to the film, which could and should have been better. But despite that, it is one respectable cowboy film and it is saved from being a total disaster due to the OK performance from Scott. However the best thing is the excellent cinematography to be provided in technicolour. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Surprisingly dull western from the usually reliable director Joseph H. Lewis. Randolph Scott is a cavalryman accused of cowardice, who then volunteers to bring back General Custers's body after Little Big Horn. Watch "They Came to Codura" for a much better film about themes of cowardice and heroics in the old west. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I liked it a lot. To me this movie was a sort of noir movie... More than a pure western. Soldiers were the bad guys, since invaded the land of native Americans or not? Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member i remember seeing this as a kid and loved it like john wayne with a randolph scott western its always good Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Really great western. It takes a lot of historical liberties, but it's great old fashioned fun. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
