Aranza S An amazing movie that keeps you in suspense full time! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/26/25 Full Review Gabriel S The Body sets the standard for Director Oriol Paulo, who would later be known for releasing other bangers like The Invisible Guest, Mirage, and God's Crooked Lines. With an intricate plotline that would later become a regular on his other works, The Body delivers a solid thrilling experience while mixing elements of mystery and even horror. The story follows detective Jaime Peña who is investigating the disappearance of Mayka Villaverde, a powerful business woman that died that same day, but somehow her body vanished from the morgue. The prime suspect is, as expected, the victim's husband, Álex Ulloa. This strong premise keeps us hooked into the story, which remains compelling until the end. The mystery surrounding what is going on is cleverly designed to sustain the film's runtime, and the mix of horror elements even cater towards the possibility of any potential outcome to this mess. And the final answer is going to leave your jaws dropped — though not unique, the ending was fitting to the story. Some elements are mixed bags, though they don't diminish the entertainment factor. They might be simple pet peeves. The elements of police procedures are absent and, when present, lack credibility. One would doubt that base of operations would run in the morgue rather than at the police station or similar purpose-driven building. The same is true for how the Police handle the prime suspect. If they really suspect Álex Ulloa that much, they would not leave him unattended at the potential crime scene. Overall, although the open-ended conclusion might be a hit-and-miss, The Body is entertaining, simple, and effective. A fresh take on the thriller genre straight from Spain. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/01/25 Full Review Ana G so I didn't know that this is the original for The Vanished, I love spanish thrillers and horror movies so I had to watch, Loved way more than the other one, this is more detailed, specially on the backround of the characters, and the fact that the daughter of the victim was behind is more creepy Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/23/25 Full Review Sarfaraz A Oriol Paulo directed the Spanish revenge mystery film (El cuerpo). The film is about a dead woman's body disappearing from the morgue, and a senior police officer is tasked with obtaining information from the deceased's young widower, who was also her employer. The film has a considerable amount of suspense and thrills. The movie, like any traditional Spanish thriller, is a nonstop mystery thriller from beginning to conclusion. It might fit within the vengeance genre. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/25 Full Review Dayi P Final inesperado, te mantiene pendiente cada segundo Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/07/23 Full Review JJJJJJ J Very average feeling. The environment and setting was very well done the problem was that the story was just not interesting enough. I wanted it to have more of a who done it feel then it did. The plot twist at the end was funny and entertaining but overall this movie was very bland. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
