Audience Member ★★ (out of four) Garth Pedrisis, the actor behind the inspiration for and the writing of "The Garth Method" does indeed have some talent and given the right role in the right project, he could become the star he so desperately wants to become. He comes across as a mixture of a younger Clive Owen and a younger Dermot Mulroney. It's too bad that his quest for stardom is so calculated. The plot is semi-autobiographical about his attempts to become an actor in Australia. He has been turned down time and time again until he becomes so distraught at his failures to make a movie he actually kidnaps people and forces them to be in his film. The film shows some of the actual footage he shot which lead to his arrest. The rest of the movie is dramatizations of his plight. There are some interesting things, but the actor himself comes across as a flake and whole existance of this film shows his ability to capitalize on his need for stardom.
