Diego Semerene Slant Magazine For a film so bent on celebrating the power of silence, Mysteries of the Jesus Prayer has a whole lot of explanatory talking. Rated: .5/4 Apr 13, 2011 Full Review Andy Webster New York Times Largely predictable. Rated: 2/5 Apr 7, 2011 Full Review Ronnie Scheib Variety Though initially fascinating, this two-hour travelogue soon becomes repetitive as it forsakes stark desert isolation for icon-festooned churches and overcrowded ceremonies. Apr 7, 2011 Full Review Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat Spirituality & Practice A documentary that presents a long-needed overview of Eastern spirituality in our time with its emphasis on prayer, silence, and living icons.
