Audience Member a 2 yuck WWII comedy Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member An above average Hal Roach vehicle for William Tracy ("Dodo" Doubleday), and character actor James Gleason. Dodo's amazing ability to memorize just about anything has him learning every Army regulation under the sun. His knowledge of the Army is quickly noted and he is promoted to sergeant, to the displeasure of his Sgt. Ames (Joe Sawyer). Most of the humor plays off this dislike for the likable Dodo by his Sgt. Not enough meat in this to make a long movie and in typical Hal Roach fashion, he keeps it to a cool 50 minutes of screen time (about the length of a hour TV show minus commercials -- perfect for short attention span theater.) This only one of several Dodo Doubleday movies; which I've also heard is the best of the series.
