Audience Member Fair adventure, although there's not enough substance to carry it to feature length and there's a lot of time-filling scenes. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member The final Weissmuller Tarzan and sadly its a poor one. Tarzan films are at their strongest when he calls upon the animal kingdom to help out. But not one rampaging elephant, no fights with lions or crocodiles and even Cheetah takes a back seat, and he looked younger than when he started the series. Instead we are introduced to guitar playing and singer Benji who is annoying beyond belief Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Hopeless final entry in the Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan series features a portly looking Weissmuller, wearing sandals for some reason, pearl smuggling and a coastal tribe who are more like latin americans or South Pacific islanders than Africans. George Zucco looks ridiculous as their high priest wearing a tunic adorned with seashells and complete with crown of limpet shells! There are several woeful musical interludes from an irritating courier called Benji. There is no Boy this time and to make matters worse there is a different chimpanzee playing Cheetah! A sad final film as this just doesn't have the same feel as the previous films, despite some interesting sets and natural locations which are actually far more impressive than many of the jungle sets of previous entries. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Should have ben titled "Tarzan Goes Hawaiian". Tarzan somehow finds Polynesian culture in the jungles of Africa. And if there wasn't already enough cultural confusing going on, Tarzan also finds a calypso playing minstrel. However, it's still all reasonably entertaining. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Filmed in Mexico, this Tarzan pic is the worst of the bunch. They even replaced Cheta with another chimp! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member 12 films over a span of 16 years. This film marked the final appearance of Johnny Weissmuller as the Lord of the Apes. The film not being about mermaids as in humanoids with fish tails is a bit of a let down. The 6 original MGM Tarzan movies are the best. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
