Never have there been five friends as infamous as The Bad Guys--dashing pickpocket Mr. Wolf (Academy Award® winner Sam Rockwell, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), seen-it-all safecracker Mr. Snake (Marc Maron, GLOW), chill master-of-disguise Mr. Shark (Craig Robinson, Hot Tub Time Machine franchise), short-fused "muscle" Mr. Piranha (Anthony Ramos, In the Heights) and sharp-tongued expert hacker Ms. Tarantula (Awkwafina, Crazy Rich Asians), aka "Webs." But when, after years of countless heists and being the world's most-wanted villains, the gang is finally caught, Mr. Wolf brokers a deal (that he has no intention of keeping) to save them all from prison: The Bad Guys will go good. Under the tutelage of their mentor Professor Marmalade (Richard Ayoade, Paddington 2), an arrogant (but adorable!) guinea pig, The Bad Guys set out to fool the world that they've been transformed. Along the way, though, Mr. Wolf begins to suspect that doing good for real may give him what he’s always secretly longed for: acceptance. Tiffany Babb Chicago Reader It serves up a few definite laugh-out-loud moments alongside the heavier emotional beats. Apr 28, 2022 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News DreamWorks Animation might well benefit from putting a moratorium on all flatulence jokes and toning down the hyperactivity. They have something good here without needing any of those things. Rated: 3/4 Apr 28, 2022 Full Review Oliver Jones Observer The movie plays its target audience like a fiddle. That is music, no matter how familiar, that even the most cynical among us can enjoy. Rated: 2/4 Apr 26, 2022 Full Review Wesley Lovell Cinema Sight The humor is sometimes quite juvenile, but who doesn’t enjoy well executed fart jokes? Rated: 3/4 Oct 5, 2023 Full Review Zach Pope Zach Pope Reviews A thrilling amount of fun! I laughed, I smiled, & I even got that warm fuzzy feeling the bad guys got! A fantastic message about not judging a book by its cover & even why we should be good!
