Audience Member Neil Patrick Harris is great, and one of my favorite actors! This variety show is like nothing else (even though it is techincally based off another show.) I loved watching it, and got some great laughs out of it! Even though not every episode was great, it was still kept afloat by NPH because he's just so great! I understand why the show wasn't renewed, (it cost a lot to make and was very tiring for NPH, and didn't get very good ratings) but I still thought it was a great season of 8 episodes, and would most definitely buy it on DVD! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member A great show with a great host It should be back for another season please. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I know I'm not as famous as the "San Francisco Chronicle" or the "Pittsburgh Post-Gazette", but I'll tell you this... The show's not only pure entertainment it's alive! And all thanks to the magic and charisma of Neil Patrick Harris. He gives everything to make sure we have the BEST TIME EVER!!! And I can proudly say he has succeeded. His hard work and dedication deserves not only a season 2 but plenty of them. Eric Deggans NPR Something about "Best Timer Ever" felt different and compelling... When so much of network TV seems safe and formulaic, "Best Time Ever" deserves points just for daring to be unpredictable. Nov 27, 2019 Full Review Tom Conroy Media Life Yes, the title is ironic, but neither grown-ups nor children are going to have the best time ever. Oct 5, 2015 Full Review Vinnie Mancuso Observer Best Time Ever COULD be a fun, energetic throwback to the balls-to-the-wall variety shows of old, if it would just slow down for ten seconds. Because every show is live, this could happen in the future. Sep 24, 2015 Full Review Roger Catlin rogercatlin.com Will put network variety shows off the shelf for another decade. Sep 22, 2015 Full Review Matt Roush TV Insider There really wasn't much variety to speak of in Best Time Ever after all, and precious little entertainment value. Maybe it will improve, but who'll be watching now that everything else is on? Sep 22, 2015 Full Review Rick Bentley Fresno Bee Variety shows shouldn't come back.
